Saturday is for Semis

Bet to win a unit on Verdasco
He's handled some tough customers this week & has tourney history on his side v. Simon who's only seen challenger semis
GL all

$155 on Nando at 1.403, small play because of his long match with GGl

Re: Saturday is for Semis

Small on Almagro 3.90 over Safin, nobody has been more impressive so far than the qualifier, beating JCF and destroying Phau and Volandri. Marat has been good so far, but he shouldn't be favored this much and Almagro can give him trouble if he is on. Almagro beat him last year in straight sets in Rome on clay as well.

I'm taking Melzer over Goldie as well whenever the odds come out.

Re: Saturday is for Semis

small play on Simon @ 3.28 - he's having a breakthrough season and with Verdasco, you never know.

Almagro @ 3.6

But going on my form this week, you'd probably be better off backing against this...

Re: Saturday is for Semis

Simon to beat Verdasco. Hopefully Fernando will be tired after his long match against GGL yesterday evening whereas Simon would have had a decent rest after winning the first game on court yesterday. I reckon Simon will be more motivated with this being his first atp semi although it could work the other way and nerves may get to him. Verdasco on the otherhand will have one eye on Monte Carlo with lots of drop outs and a defeat here wouldn't be disastrous for him.

I don't think Verdasco is enough of a top player to be considering a defeat in a semi final to not be a chance missed, his mind will very much be on getting the W here. I think he'll have too much for Simon on this surface and can't see the match against GGL having any real bearing since Verdasco is in pretty good shape. I'm taking Verdasco to win.

Re: Saturday is for Semis

Good price on the Melzer/Goldie matchup...

Adding Melzer (-130)

I don't understand how Melzer has a better line against Goldie than Montanes did. Goldie is playing well, but Montanes is not nearly the quality of Melzer on clay. Melzer has done well in Houston, losing in the semis to Roddick, the quarters to Roddick, and the semis to Agassi the last three years, very quality players. He is probably licking his chops now that he has a chance to make the finals and is facing the lesser American Goldstein.

Re: Saturday is for Semis

I can see one fairly solid winner today - Haas @ 1.33. Would need to double it to add value.

I like the Melzer price but I'm a little worried about Goldie's recent form over lefties. Stands to reason as I have seen him destroy a few of them over the last few years. He won't lose SF all the time...

Almagro is nice odds @ 3.60 but I think Marat will probably win this time.

As bournerdan says, I don't think Verdasco will want to pass on an opportunity to reach another final in Valencia. His 13/2 record speaks for itself - he likes the place.

Re: Saturday is for Semis

Going for the following:

Verdasco x Haas @ 1.81

Melzer @ 1.72

Analysis: http://www.triplethreatsports777.com...ed=1#post21029

Good luck!
