Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

Thinking about Muller to beat Mirnyi. Mirnyi has been pretty poor this season whereas Muller has been solid. I think Muller's game is quite suited to play against big servers. I don't think the Miami surface is that quick if last season is anything to go by where the likes of Ferrer and Hrbatty got far and Nadal should have won it.

Also Acacuso against Zib and Calleri against Monaco.

C. Berlocq _vs_ D. Young

How can one take this tournament seriously if you have this as a round 1 matchup in a masters tournament? :retard:

One of them will get a big big win! And at a TMS too!

No guts, no glory!

The bookies as we speak are probably when trying to price this match

I agree with Muller there mate - did some number crunching and Mirnyi isn't impressive vs lefties.

I don't like many R1 match-ups at all. Siding with Greg to take out Youzhny purely on leftie stat and the fact that Youzhny has a really :retard:ed AMS Miami record

Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

All depends on price of course, but may see some value in:

Wawrinka
Seppi
Santoro
Muller (popular choice it seems)
Vliegen
Mayer

still hoping prices may surprise on other leans...

YTD: 76-83 +37.40 units

Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

Love 'smoking Joe' chucho @1.5 over Zib (baffled that its as much as this)
Zib is 0-7 this year , winning all of 1 set in that time .... following on from losing last 9 matches of 2005 (winning only 2 sets in those as well), so thats 0-16 ATP matches for the czech since New Haven 2005.

add this with the key biscane courts always being quite slow for HC standard, chucho's good form this year and always good support from latin community at this tournament... Jose all the way.

Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

Hey Mikey,

Yeah there was something about the Acasuso match that I didn't like, when I first saw it. On looking into it, I found that Zib has had his leg over Acasuso before - granted it was on grass last year (and Acasuso is 0/7 on grass ). Also, this is Zib's most favourable surface, and whilst the tourney is pro Latin America, Acasuso has never impressed there. He has also lost to such less imposing players as Christophe Rochus...and of course Chucho isn't hot on hardcourts really.

Whilst I'd be pulling for Chucho, I don't think it is all that safe

Sluiter is quite dangerous man and Massu is apparently struggling for confidence on hardcourts or something. I definitely don't think he is worth 1.25 odds

Moodie is the lesser of 2 evils vs Rochus - Rochus is shocking on hardcourts going 2/8 recently and only beating Acasuso and Martin. But Moodie isn't in any good form so I don't know whether to trust him...and the court is apparently playing quite slow. That said, it seems that IW didn't play too fast and Bjorkman too out Rochus so...

I like Vliegen but he is only 1.28 - have to double with something.

Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

the HC factor will suit Jose's big serves, he should just be too good for zib right now on any surface..
Zibby's is after Rusedski's record of consec. 1st round defeats (21 was it?? )... and i think he'll get it

even tho chucho doesnt have a great HC record anywhere, cept maybe cincinnati QFS's last year, i like that he's won 1st rounders in the last few Miami's ... and other 1st round defeats when his ranking was low (perhaps qualied a few times?)
i still feel its a good chance/match for the big argie bargy..
Gl me!

Yeah I agree I like his R1 wins...but something tells me that Zib could be a problem though. I'll probably take it - maybe throw in Vliegen as well, although that could be too greedy

Good luck champ

Re: C.S.I. Miami Wednesday Shootout (R1)

cheers Judge
think an easy double coulda been Vliegen X Massu if i wasnt commiting myself to chucho..

waddya think of Safin 0.44 v Henman 1.62 match on Thu?

for once i like Henman's chances (off course this means 110% he gets beat now)
