Unhappy Mourners Monday

Well it does not seem Timmy's price is going to rise anymore..

Henman to beat Berdych - $1.95

EDIT: This winner will be dedicated to our dearly departed aussie who is currently serving a ban from posting here in the gamblers lounge.

Re: Mourners Monday

James Blake (-147) vs Tommy Robredo
Blake has been dominant on hard this past year, and is coming off a great tournament win in Las Vegas, simply outplaying Hewitt in the final. He is 9-1 in his last 10 matches on hard, with his only loss coming ironically to Robredo. Since the Australian, Robredo has hardly been impressive, losing to Mirnyi, Voltchkov, Philippoussis, Capdeville, and Karlovic. Look for James to get his revenge and overpower Robredo to a victory.

Can I ask why? I thought Berdych was an up and comer, and Henman is past it. Though he does seem to have some kind of new found glory since he's no longer considered to be carrying the hopes of the UK on his shoulders.

I like Henman to beat Berdych @ 1.90 as well ~

Berdych hasn't click this year... while Timmy seems to be gaining some confidence after some 'not so difficult' wins in past tournaments... I'd say i lean on on Timmy 60/40 to win this one... but I'll probably go for the safer ones :

Blake @ 1.67
Nieminen x Grosjean @ 2.03
Kirilenko x Ljubicic x Ivanovic @ 2.12

Good luck to everyone ~ (who's not on the other side against me)

Re: Mourners Monday

Nobody likes Stepanek over Malisse? From what I read, Malisse had problems putting Santoro away.

I hate betting on Stepanek though. His face scares me.

Yeah I like Henman to win too but I won't jinx him for you

What has he done this time to earn the ban?

Malisse eats serve-volleyers alive...

Re: Mourners Monday

Malisse didn't have problems, Santoro was just lucky to convert 100% of his break chances. He was also a break up in the third but I had no doubts whatsoever that Malisse would win.

Re: Mourners Monday

Got leans on most matches but I don't think I'm confident enough to hit any to be honest.

Like yesterday when you got Verdasco and Srichaphan correct but zero profict from that...

Jez, you're a great tennis better, you just need a little more confidence. If you have some leans, post them here! Then, some other betters like me can tell our opinion.

I only went for a parlay for now: Nieminen x Ancic x Hewitt. Pretty safe in my opinion.

Haas, Henman, Kiefer and Grosjean should win too. I'm just getting some guts to do another parlay or single bets.

Re: Mourners Monday

Well I'm looking at doing a double of Roddick x Ljubicic @ 1.70

Should be safe. Verdasco is dangerous but nothing more than that. Roddick has a brilliant record vs lefthanders so that is a further point in his favour.

Ljubo's serve should be too strong to allow Monfils to get ahead.

Yeah I have some confidence issues.

I'll post my leans but I don't think it will change things much! Nothing really screams out. Just the larger odds:

Henman over Berdych @ 1.83 - Berdych has lost to 2 serve-volleyers already this year...hit and miss player and clearly struggles to "hit" when going for passing shots. However, has the ability to hit huge return winners...and this is Henman

Nieminen over Kohlschreiber - Nieminen in brilliant form this year but Kohlschreiber playing well. German also has a reasonable record vs lefthanders

Soderling over Andreev - Andreev still has issues with the hardcourts whilst Soderling is cruising right now. He also has a good record in USA and beat Andreev on clay a few years ago, so rallies may not be a problem for him.

Srichaphan over Ferrero - again, h2h means little at times. The Thai is hitting good form whilst Ferrero continues to struggle.
