Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

A quick entrance and a quick exit - I don't like the card today...see you all Wednesday!

...on a side note, Acasuso is still in play for me, so I hope he wins

Good luck everyone!

Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

Still thinking about Pavel over Soderling @2.28. Not sure if i will take but:

Pavel has shown the goods against Haas with MP at delray beach, and just beach Roddick at DC! He has lots of confidence right now and should be able to take out Soderling.. who hasn't done much this year besides a CHs.. Also lost to pretty boy lopez!

No guts, no glory!

Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

Taking Luczak over Odesnik @1.465..

Edit:

Decided to take Luzak x Acasuso @ 1.77

Luzak over Odesnik - Odesnik is 0-4 in the ATP level and hasn't performed well at CH either. He's decent in the FUs but who cares . He has lost to Goldstein, Widom and many other subpar players.. Luczak is pretty hot this year with a 4-4 atp record. Beat out some decent players. He's not great or anything but should be able to edge out Odesnik... This is a USA challengeres event.

Acasuso over Montanes - Acasuso is hot right now having won Vina del Mar.. He also steamrolled Tojo last week during Davis cup. He's red hot on the red clay right now and is 2-0 H2H over Montanes. Expecting this to be an easy straight set win!

Lean on Serra over Calleri..

No guts, no glory!

Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

2006 ATP Tennis Record: 20-4 (+$5235)

I am coming off 3-0 Davis Cup weekend and I am feeling the big time fire burning right now. Keep in mind that all my plays are -199 or lower (for Americans) or 1.52 and higher (for the rest of the world). There is no value in parlay and no value whatsoever in betting on big dogs. We have three interesting tournaments this week and I am looking forward to making some more big time money.

-----------------------------------------------

Marseille (Round 1): Tuesday, February 14, 2006

Taylor Dent -117 over Igor Andreev ($585 to win $500)

This is a tough one to bet on at first glance but I really like the American on this surface and feel that Dent has been through enough adversity this season to be ready for this match. He might have a little bit of rust to shake off in the early going and I warn you not to panic if he goes down one set early to the Russian. Dent had problems in Sydney and then crashed out of the Australian Open without a fight. However, he has been in Marseille for quite a few days now and has taken time to regroup, rething and re-energize himself. We should see a whole new Dent in this tournament. Taylor was at this tournament last year and he beat both Benneteau and Nalbandian before crashing out to Feliciano Lopez in a crazy ass third set tiebreaker. Dent is 32-22 lifetime on the Indoor Hardcourt surface and has tons of experience on this stuff. Andreev on the other hand has looked horrible on the indoor hardcourts going 0-2 in the last 12 months and 4-10 in his career. Andreev played in Croatia where he lost to a virtual local nobody and then he went to play for Russia in Davis Cup action where he had problems with the #383 player in the world Jesse Huta Galung. Too many people will argue that Dent doesn't play well in Europe and that he should have gone back to the US to compete in San Jose but I beg to differ. Dent has the same win % in Europe as Andreev and that says a lot about the American's intentions in this tournament. Andreev has not been good on this fast surface and unless he comes up with one of his best matches of all time, I don't see him beating Dent in this one. I am calling for Dent to win this thing in two or three sets and hopefully the time off has done him some good.

Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

Dlouhy to beat Carlsen @2.87
Schüttler to beat Vliegen @2.70

small play:
Kas/Petzschner over Grosjean/Gasquet @8.30

The best challenger team in the world has a chance here - at least I hope so. They have beaten several ATP teams indoors. And with the champions tb in the 3rd set there is a better chance for the dogs anyway.

And I agree with Dent over Andreev @1.83
Andreev had problems against Huta-Galung, who is a clay courter imo.

Re: Spanish Tyro Tuesday

Add Dent over Andreev 1.813 .. agree andreev has sucked since the AO.. struggling with many lowlys on faster surfaces..

Also heavy lean on Serra over Calleri.. got to think this one over.

BTW seems like some of the matches u listing in in the original post are Wednesday matches

No guts, no glory!

Please man...you ask my advice and I give it you. This match, if anything, will go to Soderling. I wouldn't play it - 2 crap players right now.
