Re: Wertheim Wednesday

The only match I wouldn't bet on is Verdasco. I fear Mayer's crippled playing style could hurt Verdasco, if he had one of his typical days. At least after what I saw against Jarkko, I won't bet on Verdasco anymore.

Re: Wertheim Wednesday

Best bet 2day is on Jarkko the fighting Fin Nieminen 1.93 over Johansson!!!Another no brainer, just cash it!!!!Leaning on Tursunov 2.85 over JCF is definetely worth a shot but hcp is better value !!!!Adding Jarkko to Special Record currently 10-3!!!!

10 units on Jarkko Nieminen 1.93 over Thomas Johansson!!!Rock Solid!!!Here are my reasons, the first is that i was very impressed by Jarkko against Hewitt and then backing up against Schuettler!!!!Another reason Jarkko h2h 1-0 but he won that in Sweden 2001 where Tojo is from which is more impressive, the score ws then 6-4 6-2!!But another reason was that i remember Tojo going down comfortably to X-men i was wondering why so easy, maybe it could be X's left hand play which mounts to the same as Jarkko!!!!Most of all Jarkko is currently better player and form at this moment!!!All points to an easy win and i cannot see anything different!!!!

Re: Wertheim Wednesday

Jarkko @ $2.05 for me aswell, really seems overpriced considering his recent form.
Will probably take a doube of Volandri and Acasusu aswell at around $1.55

LOL, why's it a "no-brainer"? Nieminen is just like the current Johansson. He'll play well one day (sometimes even THREE, if you're lucky!), and then play like shit for the next three weeks. I wouldn't back him against the Swede, even if he personally paid me to back him. He'll also probably be down on himself after going out at the quater finals of the US Open.

I bet Johansson takes this one. Well, I wouldn't bet on it...but you know what I mean .

Or he could be on a massive high after becoming the first Finn ever to make a grandslam QF? I doubt any of us really know how he really feels at the moment NewTennisFan thats unless you are a believer in biorythms?

Re: Wertheim Wednesday

Jarkko * Moya @ $2.85!!! I get the feeling Moya is about to hit top form again and could be a chance of winning this tourney!!

Do you know what a biorhythm is? The term simply refers to a recurrent biological process. It's discussed in the pure sciences.

But no, I don't believe it's of any use to sports handicapping.

I agree with you that none of us really know how he feels right now. That's why I made a suggestion, not a declaration.

Getting far and then losing could have numerous effects. We do see players going far, blowing out, and then, having exhausted themselves mentally and physically, losing in the first round in the next tournament. Alternatively, it could be as you said: that the confidence boost means they keep getting stronger.
