Re: Thursday - 4th August

I trulely feel sorry for those who had money on Hrbaty tonight....

ya'll wanna know how DOM lost in 3rd set TB?

1st point - Dom misses an OPEN court smash, blaming it on the lighting.....
Dom hits a ball that looked about 10 inches long, I know cuz I was right there looking at the line....
Luis was so cramped up that, he was serving UNDER HANDED.....but, he still won points in 3rd set TB.....DOM gave this match away.....he won like 1 single pt off of his own serves in 3rd set TB......

FADE Luis Horna line CRAZY everyone.....he called for a trainer every changeover and even during 3rd set Tb....(Pics shown below)

Pics of DOM's match from tonight....

Re: Thursday - 4th August

Voladri over Mayer @ 1.40
Starace over Moya @ 2.80 - Moya was terrible against Fromberg the other night... tough to see him coming back after a 6-7 6-3 7-5 struggle against #1469 in the world, no joke, check for yourself -

Potato has already beaten Moya once this year, and will do it again. That is unless Moya withdraws/retires, which he could well do.

Volandri and Nieminen should too be consistent for Almagro.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Thursday - 4th August

Pipo seems like a good play
Muller over Clement is a more than a nice pick

So Pipo + Muller so far

not absolutely convinced that Jarkko will win..Almagro is a good claycourter.although he had a hard time lwoth his last match i think he has the better chances to win

haha, I hope you're right mate and he wasnt just calling trainer to upset Doms rythm.

I might add Muller x Ginepri to tonights bets then at around $2.10+

Re: Thursday - 4th August

The key consideration today for the Sopot matches for me is what is happening next week - The Montreal Masters. Players involved next week will surely have one eye next week. With that in mind:

Singles:

Volandri to beat Mayer - $1.40 (10 units)

Straight up 10 units on Volandri - he will be checking out of Montreal early next week in any case so I believe for him he sees this as a tournament he can win.

Starace to beat Moya - $2.85 (10 units)

Moya's struggles against <fill in the blank> last round surely doesn't bode well when he is up against a decent dirtballer in starace. Hard court season is just around the corner, and it's time for King Carlos to think about HC performances and especially next week in Montreal. Expect him to catch a late flight out of Sopot tonight or and early flight Friday morning bound to Montreal. This is the reason for a big 10 unit play on this match as well.

Acasuso and Chadaj is an interesting one. The big Argenitine unit will be playing in Montreal next week ( ) but at the same time Sopot seems to be a special place for him with solid performances over the years being a winner in 2002 and finalist to Nadal last year. I can't see him losing to Chadaj, but odds at $1.15 are too low so no bet.

Almagro v Nieminen is most defintiely a no bet for me. Although he struggled to put away Portas last round, Almagro has been in a decent form over the last month, and Portas as well for that matter. Like most spaniards it seems these days, it depends whether he has his head screwed in - if anything my lean is on nico, but again this is a no bet.

Will have some WTA San Diego and ATP Washington plays posted a bit later.

I agree with that to an extent. Almagro can be dangerous because his results on clay suggest so, but imo, Jarkko is has much stronger weapons than Almagro. Yesterday, Portas put a lot of pressure on Almagro's serve so I expect something similar from jarkko today. As long as Jarkko plays consitantly like he did against Puerta, I think it should be a comfortable win.

Much like yesterday's match with Sabau and Andreev, some thought that Sabau might make an upset, because of his reputation as a clay courter but he got destroyed. Jarkko has put up some good results lately, with the exception to the lost agaisnt Ferroro due to illness, and should continue his run today.
