2005 ATP Tennis Record: 0-0 (+0.00 units)
I have posted picks at several other forums in the past and know several good cappers on this site that also post on other sites. Use these picks at your own risk and have some fun.
Nicolas Massu -254 over N. Lapentti (5 Units)
This is a decent price for this tournament's defending champion. Massu easily got rid of Koellerer and Koubek earlier on and he should have no problem with this chump Lapentti. I strongly believe that Fena lost to Lapentti in order to let his good buddy beat the shit out of him today. Massu is not going down to Lapentti today and this is going to be some easy money.
Gaston Gaudio -401 over Mikhail Youzhny (10 Units)
Are you kidding me? I know this is risking a lot of money but who the hell has Youzhny beat in the past three months that was a decent clay court player? Nobody! Gaudio has been one of the best players this Clay Court season and his last three tournaments have been gems. This should be some easy money as well and Gaudio will most likely be in the Finals of this tournament.
Mariano Zabaleta -159 over Feliciano Lopez (10 Units)
This might be a lot of money to drop on a guy like Zaba but I am confident that he can send this clay court wannabe home early. Lopez was a moneymake for me earlier on in this tournament but his fun is over and his lack of skills on the clay courts will catch up to him right now. Feli has been beating journeymen this tournament while Zaba has been grinding it out with some of the big boys. Anyways, I see Zaba winning this possibly in three sets but either way, he should come away with the win. Zaba has not reached the semis or finals of any tournament this season and now is the time.
ATP Los Angeles
Xavier Malisse -150 over Juan Ignacio Chela (5 Units)
If you had given me this matchup in Round 1 of this tourney, I would have told you to stay far away. However, after seeing the X-Man play in this tourney, I think he is ready to take his game back to the level he reached back at Delray Beach. Since that day, Malisse has looked awful and has not played much. X-Man has looked great in LA this week taking out both Haas and Lee. Chela on the other hand, should stick to the clay courts. He is nowhere near the level of play he was at last year and he struggled in Rounds 1 and 2 of this tourney. Losing a set to Tsurnov means you are going home this round.
Robby Ginepri -270 over Gilles Muller (10 Units)
Robby should easily win this one in two sets. I know he has some serious brain cramps here and there but this is different. He is coming off his second tournament win in his ATP career and he is on Cloud 9 right now. Muller is only in this round because he faced Fleishman and De Chaunac ealier on. He does not belong here and has not beaten anyone significant on hard court since back in March. I admire his work on the grass courts but Robby will be too much for him to handle in this one.
Good Luck to all!
