Saviour Sunday

Sunday in tennis is akin to the last race at the horse track known as the "get out race" - meaning the race on which you can make back all your losses. So if you fall into this category at the moment, I shall do my bit to try pull you back in.

Amersfoot - Fena "G-Unit" Gonzalez has been on fire all week, and I cannot see him losing to his geographical neighbour in Agustin Calleri. Full respect must be given to the argentine, who is making his first finals appearance since Costa Do Sauipe (February 2004). He had no problems in disposing of Ivo Minar 4 & 4, while his highly fancied compatriot Puerta, struggled vehemently with the czech.

Head to head: Fena Gonzo leads 2-1.

2001 Montevideo Challenger SF Clay (O) F.GONZALEZ 5-7 6-4 5-7
2002 Vina Del Mar 32 Clay (O) F.GONZALEZ 4-6 0-6
2003 Estoril QF Clay (O) A.CALLERI 7-5 6-1

Verdict: Either way, the play remains the same, Fena is the go-to man.

Gonzalez over Calleri @ 1.31 (best of 3 sets format).

Stuttgart - Rafael Nadal meets Gaston Gaudio for the 3rd time this year. They are locked up at 1-1. If anyone is to break Rafa's streak in his next 20 claycourt matches, Gaston is the man.

Head to head: G-Train Gaston leads 3-1.

2003 Hamburg 16 Clay (O) G.GAUDIO 2-6 2-6
2004 Bastad QF Clay (O) G.GAUDIO 2-6 3-6
2005 Buenos Aires QF Clay (O) G.GAUDIO 6-0 0-6 1-6
2005 Monte Carlo QF Clay (O) R.NADAL 6-3 6-0

Maybe these two will actually play a set of more than 9 games for once .

Verdict: If you are an in-play trader, then lay the 1.16, and you should easily be able to trade your way into a nice green-green situation. If not, then playing the correct set score may be the way to go, the most liquidable option of which should be Nadal 3-0. You can either back it, or lay it at around 1.90-2.00 - personally, I would rather the lay option, although GG could throw in the towel after the first break of serve, who knows .

Indiannapolis - Taylor "I am only good because my dad is Aussie" Dent lines up against Robbie "hey mum, look at me mum, I beat Andy" Ginepri. The big serving Aussie is yet to drop a set all week, and in fact hasn't even been pushed so far as a tiebreaker just yet. This tournament has Taylor's name written all over it - I even saw the trophy at the engraver's shop yesterday.

Head to head: T-Mac leads 3-1.

2002 Memphis 32 Hard (I) T.DENT 7-6(5) 6-4
2002 Newport SF Grass (O) T.DENT 3-6 6-3 6-1
2003 Stockholm 16 Hard (I) R.GINEPRI 7-6(2) 6-7(7) 4-6
2005 Adelaide 32 Hard (O) T.DENT 6-1 2-6 6-2

Verdict: Aussie Aussie Aussie... Oi Oi Oi...

Taylor "I will put a" Dent in "Ginepri" @ 1.65

While I'm at it, I shall remind you all that my campaign needs YOUR support. So please vote for me at -

Re: Saviour Sunday

Forget the 1-2 punch, give me a 1-2-3 Sudnay KO

Parlay:

Gonzo x Nadal x Dent = $2.45 (5 units)

I'm also going to play Nadal to win 3-0, no mkt info on that as yet.

But for those who want a bit undercard action before the main event, visit the rugby thread in a couple of hours

I got to disagree on your approach, i say take what you can get at the start, you are not going to get anything better in game

Re: Saviour Sunday

I had Nadal * Gonzo on Wednesday to win the tournaments @ 2.96. Good stuff

BTW, wasn't Nadal's game supposed to be best of five?
