I did not just wake up from slumber to jump on the Barthel wagon one early morning. I have been following this young lady's progress ardently for a good while now and I have no doubt in my mind that she is top 10 or better. You just need to rewind to three days or so back and follow the line through her loss to Lisicki in that close three-setter which Lisicki narrowly won. Also rewind to Kerber's woeful loss to pennetta and the underlying fact that Barthel promises to be an improved and updated Pennetta. Finally go back to Kerber's spasmic win of yesterday followed by a rough guess of how much petrol might be left in her tank????.....I rest my case. Barthel will surely make another one bite the dust. Keep cruising Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Li vs Vika Over 21 games (1.90) - lean on Li + 3,should be a beauty of a contest!Thought Li would be a pk,books have different opinion!
Baggy -2.5 games(1.95) over Benny!
GL-lean on Safin lookalike Dennis Istomin, the guy has improved alot since I first saw him play against Rusty a few yrs back!Wonder if he moulds his game from the former champ!Has a couple of things that look abit Marat like!
As for the baghdatis match I think it'll be tough for Marcos. He prefers to be agressed by his opponent and this will be a match of patience.Benneteau is dangerous.
That was a great bet in the end. Pete has had a disrupted preparation and Nielsen was actually competetive last week against top quality opposition in the Hopman cup
These mid tier players that do well in the leadup to slams invariably flame out come grand slam time. Will be watching with interest to see how Barthel fares, looks like she has some winnable matches the first couple of rounds before she faces a gun player (probably Vika Azarenka)
Bad gambler,i really do not know how well you know about this player Barthel. But to refer to her as a mid-tier player is somewhat undermining. Gun players dont come better than the kerbers and lisicki of this present era. The name Vika does nothing to further strengthen your case. Mind you, it is not unusual for players who show remarkable form before a slam to lose in the first or second round. I am always cautious of that...and will play her with caution cos of that along with players like kerber, nishikori, and one or two others peaking too soon. Still takes nothing from the fact that this chic is the real mcCoy.
Azarenka did choke but Li is an unforced error machine... if Azarenka ever makes a grand slam final, Id go all in on her opponent
