Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

I am a bit surprised that there is no thread for Tuesday with so much tennis to be played. Some crap prices on players but there is also scope for some high priced upsets.
Cant see past Simon beating the boxhead Kolschreiber but 2/5 is a bit small.
For some reason Mardy fish at evens to beat Hewitt interests me.
I am not sure I will play any of these as of yet though, thoughts?

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

I think I'll probably put my picks early this time around to get some better odds. Patty Schnyder is 1.85-ish to beat Bondarenko ( the short one ) and she can't be ignored at these odds; she has to start winning at some point and she won't be bothered by the conditions.
Fish is good odds to beat Hewitt who's not 100% the only question is Fish's form but the fast court might prove a big advantage to the American.
Gasquet and Kleybanova look very tempting for a double and Isner has to do the job against GGL. Guch should also do it against Canas , he's around 1.80; unless Canas miraculously starts playing but his form has been very poor and in any case, he's an old guy.
Niculescu is also tempting, I'm waiting to see where the price will balance itself and Errani beat Mauresmo in the dead rubber in the weekend and I'm very tempted to take her to beat her again.
Another questionmark is whether Llodra can beat Karlovic; I don't normally put money on Llodra but maybe this is a special case as the Croat is in a bit of a funk right now.
I might try a silly bet on Korolev too to beat Soderling just to get back on the fixing Russian if he manages to win it.

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

Guccione to beat Canas @ 1.80 (4/10)

Betting on a clown like the Gooch outside of Australia is usually asking for trouble but Canas looks pretty much finished as a player, he's just made the trip from Europe after another embarrassing loss to a lower ranked player in Veic amidst rumous of "injury problems". Dunno how much to read into that, but anyway his record indoors the last couple of years is weak. He has even lost to the Gooch on clay before, in Quito which is at high altitude and hence where the ball zips through like in an indoor court which suggests he may have a tough time returning the Gooch's serve tomorrow. Anyway with his current form he has to be worth fading.

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

ATP:
Fish @ 2.05
Guccione @ 1.80
Isner @ 1.65
Gasquet x Monfils x Gulbis @ 2.00.
fun pick: Korolev @ 3.90
WTA
Patty oh Patty Schnyder @ 1.80
Kleybanova x Niculescu X Jankovic @ 2.50
small picks:
Errani @ 2.05
Makarova ( hope she can do it, lets go girl ) @ 2.75

Also adding probably the public pick of Llodra tb Karlovic @ 2.10. Llodra is gonna be a very popular pick and unless I see something funny with the odds tomorrow I'm not going to retract it.

See how these will go.
Need to study the Brazil Open a bit further, if I'm to pick anything from there.

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

$1.45 for Ferrer are you kidding me? I don't think he is back to form based on his performance last week in Jo'burg, he was still making a lot of uncharacteristic errors from his forehand. Not only now does he travel to Holland from Sth Africa but look at how poor his indoor hard record last year was 2-4, ending the season with 3 consecutive indoor hard losses as well.

Melzer over Ferrer @ $3.00

If Hewitt is half fit he will beat the unforeced error machine Fish in my opinion.

Hewitt over Fish @1.90

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

Melzer over Ferrer

This looks a horrible match up for Ferrer on this surface. He has lost his last 4 matches indoors against lefties. 3 against Lopez and 1 against Zverev. Both players have some similarities to Melzer in that they like to attack the net and use the backhand slice. A decent slice is something Pics particularly struggles with indoors. As well as the 4 defeats already mentioned check out losses to Nalbandian, Youzhny, Henman and Oli Rochus since the start of 6.

3.25 2u

Re: Too Late For A Thread Tuesday

Morning lads,

Prudently Gucci has been grasped on Sunday at a price of 1.9 - seems to be relatively obivous to keep on fading a disgraceful Canas maybe injured or simply in obscure woeful conditions on this razor fast classical indoor turf where Guccies main merit (serve) is most lethal...

GGL posesses 2 classes better retrieving skills and decent serve in comparisant with this funny clampsy serving weapon Isner, GGL beaten American here last year on a 3 TBs....anticipating same plot here again...+2 on GGL...

The only concern is Gils fitness after flight from S.Africa but 3 days rest should be enough for surpassing slumping Andujar who has been in immense downtrend with a bunch of humiliating losses on various surfaces since the 2nd half of 08 ....1.85 for Gil....
