Re: Trainer Thursday

I'm sure that tennis experts here will confirm that Nole is a value against A-Rod.
Nole returns A-Rod serve at 65% of time with a slice forehand who put Roddick on baseline (Roddick never do serve & volley) - then the point it's over.
The last time i saw Roddick play some good tennis was at Dubai. Surface was strangely fast, maybe because of all this sand on court...

Re: Trainer Thursday

I like Roddick's chances tonight. He has played the best tennis so far at these tournaments IMO and under the lights on Arthur Ashe, he is always a tough opponent to face. Djoko didn't seem to have a clue how to return A-Rod's serve in Dubai and his tank looks to be running on empty.

No bet for me, but I favour Roddick to come through in 4.

Re: Trainer Thursday

Federer Muller under 33.5 1.85

Fed is playing some shit tennis but if this was a first round match margine wolud be 27.5 or something like that
Saw this Muller and IMO he has no waepons to hurt Fed...yep Fed return is bad but Muller cannot make him play an extra shot like Alves or Andreev did...his luck is unbelivable this tournament and that doesnt stop me from making this bet...was tough with Andreev but he won...and that is a boost for his confidence
Expect 3:0 for Roger Federer

Re: Trainer Thursday

The big question today is... Can Muller Win A Set?

Federer VS Muller- Tie Break In the Match @ $1.83 (paddy power)
Novak Djokovic over Andy Roddick @ 4/6
Muller +2.5 sets @ 13/8 (Stan James)
Muller 2 win 1st service game @ 4/9

All depends on this match on the phisical conditions of Novak Djokovic, if the Serb has recovered to the match against Tommy Robredo and he has not so much problems on the right leg I think that he is widely favorite on this match, is right that for him his last two match hasn't really been easy, but Marin Cilic(Andy Roddick lost this summer against him) has played an amazing match and still lose and also Robredo one of his best match/tournament career on this surface for the intensity and quality that he has shows us.
So, is right that we aren't watching the best Djokovic, but I think that we have to give some credits also to the players that the Serb faced on the last rounds.
Andy Roddick won very easy in stright sets against Fernando Gonzalez, but I don't believe a lot on that match, of course the Yankee has served pretty well, but Gonzalez has done all that he had to do in order to win less games as possible.
Anyway, nobody is saying that Andy is doing a bad tournament, but this summer for him and especially his confidence has been like a disaster and also to the second round was down 1 set and a break against Ernest Gulbis, and if this last one would have been a bit of experience more, I'm pretty confident that the results would have been a lot different.
H-2-H tied on 1:1, Andy Roddick won the last one this year in Dubai, but probably that was his best tournament on his best shapeand Dubai's hard is the fastest on the tour.
Well, finally as said if Novak Djokovic hasn't huge phisical problems with the ball in play I don't see a lot of chance for Andy Roddick, seen that imho on the baseline he is worth less then for example Cilic and Robredo right now, he has to serve perfectly, but is it possible for 3 sets? I'm a little skeptical.
It's important to say also that I have choose a bookmaker as 10BET, where if the match will not finished and someone will retire the BET IS VOID, so if Djokovic is in a normal shape imho he is the favorite and up to 1.70 is decidedly value and if Djokovic has some problems imho after 2 sets probably he will retire himself and so I will not lose.

04/09/2008 Analysis
Today 04/09/2008, 15:59

Roger Federer - Gilles Muller
It's about 3 rounds that I still saying that Muller was down 2 sets and a break against Haas, but he has still done impressive performance beating Almagro when he has 2 sets down and especially Davydenko in just 4 sets, one of the best player on the returns.
Roger Federer is true that won in 5 sets against Andreev, but honestly I have never seen in my life Andreev playing as here on hard, so huge credits also to the Russian.
Theorically would be not easy aim for Roger Federer and 1.07 shows it, but maybe after the match we will say big was Muller's odds, even if I don't think so this time, but same with will see

Re: Trainer Thursday

Muller loooked dead tired against Davydenko. I dont see what else he can do.
Federer will surely make him more tired.

For today though I like a 2 team parlay.

Re: Trainer Thursday

The experts will say Djokovic, the laymen will say Roddick.
I'm a layman so...
You only need to watch about 15-20 minutes of Roddick's matches to know who wins and the rest is just a formality.

Also: Federer to beat Muller 3-0 at 1.52

I am kind of leaning that way too. I think Novak will be too tough in the end.
