Sorry 4 the crap title. Gone for a suicidal parlay for the first two days of the us open

Moya 1.22 (v Qureshi)
Garcia-Lopez 1.44 (v Hrbaty)
Karanusic 1.72 (v Sweeting)
Ferrero 1.22 (v Evans)
Youzhny 1.16 (v Hernych)

Good luck everyone in this Flushing Meadows fortnight

Hrbaty is a veritable champion in his heart and showed magnificent performance in recent Olympics against semifinalist Blake-GGL is an utter bumpkin...

Karanusic is a challenger inhabitant and an explicit journeyman who will perform against promising American youngster who has passed Q tourney....

Ferrero has been sidelineded for 2 months with an injury........
So the best of luck to you chap.

Re: Grand Slam Monday at last

I see your point on Roko. I think Sweeting is prob a little overrated and his record/ranking this year is disappointing. Both players will see it as a good chance. Roko maybe with more big match experience.

In truth this 1st round is not that good. The Aussie Open 1st rnd was a dream. Hrbaty simply cant do five sets. His injuries will catch up on him. As for Ferrero, a risk, but with ranking points to defend and another American with an average season at the other side of the net. Fitness permitting he hopefully will win.

Gambling is a risk anyway, that's why we do it. Shame there are no brits to back against. Alex Bogdanovic is money in the bank.

Re: Grand Slam Monday at last

The Us open has been kind to me in recent years , i had a really big win when agassi beat baghdatis two years ago.

I will take these prices for the following.

Isner over Beck 8/13
Gulbis over Tojo 1/3
Monfils over Cuevas 2/9
Lee over Seppi 3/1
Nishkori over Monaco 7/4
Lapentti over Lu 5/6 (Nice odds)
Serra over Rainer 6/5

Momo over Dechy 1/2
Vakulenko over Vesnina 1/1
A.Wozniak over Davenport 5/2
Parmentier over Erakovic 1/1
Tanasagurn over Marino 1/2
Dellequa over Coin 1/5
Hanthucova over Gronefeld 1/2

Wow, massive odds on Nishikori and Lee IMO. I guess the injury concerns that these two regularly have are factored into the price, but Lee is one of those guys that won't do anything for a couple of months but then deliver a few shock results. Its not as though Seppi is a grand slam giant as well.
Kei playing in the States is like him playing on home territory as he has been training there for the last couple of years with Bolliterri. Monaco is in shithouse form and is there for the taking.

Yes, I liked that bet as well, but would prefer to double it with something...very disappointed with the distinct lack of specials offered.

Honestly, I couldn't fathom taking Lee in his current form, although as Jaap says, it isn't like Seppi is an overly reliable performer. Definitely not getting involved in that one, that's for sure. As for Nishikori...not totally sold on that one at the moment, not least because he himself isn't exactly match-fit.

Some incredibly shitty odds offered.

Re: Grand Slam Monday at last

Initial thoughts...

Solid mugtiple material:

Cilic (injured Benny)
Blake (Young)
Simon (Granollers)
Calleri(!!!!!!) (Krajicek??)
Nalbandian (Daniel)
Gulbis (Tojo)
Fish (Smeets)
Kiefer (Minar)

That would pay about 5/2 and adding JMDP could bring it well over 3/1.

Potential big priced upsets:

Gaba over Llodra
Jenkins over Nieminen
Delic over Ginepri
Zverev over Robredo
Anybody over Karlovic

Dogs that should probably be faves:

Dancevic over ALmagro
Jurgen the Mug over Lopez

Bolleli+6
Gabashvili+5
Nishikori+5
Sweeting 1.9

You can look at Roko's ATP record and even more at Grand Slam record, you can see that he's won very(!) limited amount of matches.

Sweeting after passing Q-tournament will be very hard for him to pass. Imho.

Not to say that Sweeting can simply overpower him from the baseline.

Nishikori can be sweet but according to Olympics he's barely ready to play.

Not so say he lacks experience and is known for been slaughtered by Montanes in straight sets on a hard court.
