Jaap's 1+ goal challenge

Right, I have wrapped up my tennis betting for the season after a shambolic day thanks to Ginepri, Mahut and Ferrer. I have withdrew most of my funds and left £234.54 in my account. With this money I am going to try the 1+ goal challenge which I saw on the betfair forum. It involves betting on a football match which will have 1 goal or more. Of course this will never get you a long term profit as it inolves backing very low odds and its basically just a case of dodging bullets.....but its only a bit of fun and I am going to see how far I go.

Others can join in the challenge if you want.

Jaap, with all due respect, WTF are you doing? 1/20? I know it's only one goal you need, but still.

Cancel that bet if you can and put it on Barca tonight at at least 8/13 or even double up on Arsenal and Sevilla at 1/5 a piece.

Jaap this is so risky mate, especially lower division matches, were bore draws occur more frequently.

As I said, its only a bit of fun. It involves backing low odds and I will eventually come unstuck, whether its on bet 1 or bet 54. I will roll on the profits and stake on from each bet and see how far I can go. It isn't a long term strategy though.

The English lower leagues usually have a lot of goals. Games involving Colchester have averaged almost 4 a game this season and games involving Ipswich have averaged 3.1 goals a game. So hard seeing there not being a goal tonight, but this is football. All you can do is look at stats and find the games most likely to have a goal.

That's what I'm saying, you know that you will lose out sooner or later, be it tonight or 100 matches from now, so what's the point?

You can turn that £200+ into 1k in a few days if you play sensible. You're just throwing away the money for no purpose. Good luck with it, but I don't understand why you're doing it when you know that the end result will leave you with zero.

Oh I will bank some money if I do go on a run. Maybe if I double my stake, I will bank the original stake. Long way to go for that though.

I do agree with what you're saying, but its just a spare £200 odd that I have in my account and if I lose it, I lose it but hopefully I will have a decent run.

wouldn't you be able to get a better price by laying correct score 0-0?

There wasn't much liquidity in the correct score market, so had to use total goals market.

If is is 200 quid that you can afford to lose which is sounds it is personally I'd rather you donate it to the breast cancer society given it is pink ribbon week than to the scums
