Best gambling movies

I just watched Owning Mahoney the other day and that has got to be one of the most degenerative movies of all time. After watching this I was just curious to hear from everyone what their favourite gambling movies are.

I've seen that. It's ok, better because it's a true story. And the blonde in it was nice looking.

The best one goes back to the 70's, simply titled and starring James Caan. "The Gambler".

For comedic value, there is one called "Double Down". For some reason it's called "Zigs" here, but when I saw it, it was Double Down.

Re: Best gambling movies

Two for the Money is pretty cool - but I hate the subliminal message about gambling (as I am sure you all would too!) that it sends out in the end.

Bookies is a pretty cool movie too - college students betting NCAAB who turn into bookies.

Rounders is another good gambling flick but that is about poker.

Re: Best gambling movies

Sports betting is my only form of gambling.

Top 3 gambling movies I have enjoyed :

Number 1 Rounders : If u havn't seen it and are into gambling chances are u will relate to and enjoy it. Very good movie based around poker.

Number 2 Bolier Room : Based around stocks. Solid movie.

Number 3 Two for the money : There was alot I didn't like about this
but the fact that it is based on a huge passion of mine (sports betting) naturally I found it reasonably enjoyable overall, despite a number of weaknesses.

Re: Best gambling movies

My top 3:

1) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (ok kind of pushing this one as to whether it should be really classified as a 'gambling' movie)

2) The Gambler

3) The Cincinnati Kid - one for the real oldies but great cinema

I wouldn't say this is a gambling movie as such, but I see what you mean. More like a fradudalent movie.
