Berdych Analysis and Stats Thread

Not too sure where too put this type of thing so I decided to create a new thread for it.

Some Tomas Career Stats:

Tie breaks
99-82 54%

5-6 45%

After Winning 1st Set
235-39 85%

After Losing 1st Set
41-134 23%

Versus Top 10
21-53 28%

Deciding set
75-61 55%

5th set record
13-6 68%

80-50 62%

31-12 72%

151-106 58%

55-47 53%

221-126 63%

This suggests that his best surface is grass and his worst surface is hard courts which I have to agree with.

I think this thread would be useful to post other stats as well for example return, 1st serve% etc.. after a match and to see what his strengths and weaknesses are and what areas of his game need to improve.

I would appreciate if you have any other information about his career e.g. how many bagels he has given out!

Re: Berdych Analysis and Stats Thread

Oh good idea! I'll try to think of some stats when I'm less busy...He has a pretty good 5th set record, I didn't really think about that.

Let's not do this

His serve clearly let him down in this match. 0 aces and only 46% 1st serves in and he only won 64% of his 1st serves. In his previous round match against Bellucci he served 2 aces, 58% of 1st serves in and won 89% of the points on his 1st serve. His 4th round opponent was obviously a lot better so points won on 1st serve was certainly going to drop, but it is certainly worrying how low his 1st serve% was and something he needs to improve in Miami as he was the finalist there in 2010.

Good job Thanks

When I have the time, I might do the H2H thread, like I did for Cilic.

Miami: 2nd & 3rd Round

He got more 1st serves in against Berlocq than Hidalgo. However he started off serving terribly against Berlocq but improved as the match went on as did the rest of his game. He needs to improve his 1st serve % in the next rounds to at least 65%-70% if he wants to win the tournament.
