Congrats to Tomas. Quarterfinals - Yay! Really really hope he can beat Fed.

I'm Amanda by the way!

Re: The Tomas Cheering Thread

So glad to have new members here, hopefully fairly soon they'll be a few more as well.

Ole Amanda Tania

On the topic of Tomas, seems to have played decent today, kinda lucky that Brands kinda choked the 3rd set away though, needs to step it up against Federer, but he did it in Miami, so why not here.

Re: The Tomas Cheering Thread

Seems so weird now as well, we wait like 3 years for Tomas to make another GS QF, and then he comes up with 2 in succession. Can't wait for the USO now

It's improving but it's still not his best form Plus I think Melzer was absolutely atrocious in their 4th round so a bit difficult to gauge...I'm annoyed they are playing, I mean my 2 favourites left in the draw...would really rather they were on opposite sides but what can you do

Let's not do this

Re: The Tomas Cheering Thread

What an absolutely excellent win! Magnificent performance, in terms of tennis and mental strength

Fed obviously didn't play his best tennis but he wasn't that bad imho. Especially in the first two sets he served really well but Tomas just overpowered him with his consistent hitting from the baseline. 3rd set was really impressive because Federer had just won the second set and had almost all the momentum on his side. However, Tomas just took this set with a double-break and without big problems, had never expected this after the second set where he had problems with his first serve. In the 4th set Tomas just showed awesome mental skills when he overcame a few really tough situations and not gave the break away. That smile at 30 all in the last game definitely remembered me of the one in Miami, when he beat Federer as well

Second GS-semi in a row after it took him so long to make the first
Next opponent is Djokovic, so far he has lost both meetings in straights, but everything seems to be possible now
