Helloooooo!! I'm back from Prostejov...after all i was there for two days and it was even better!
Love this tournament!!!!
well, I saw both of their doubles matches...both were quite easy for them, which is great.
Today they are playing Delgado/Guzman (Guzman yesterday defeated Novak in the singles so he ended his career!
) ...this pair Delgado/Guzman played yesterday against Vanek/Norman...very tough match...especially at the end.. last set was 10-8...and Norman horridly broke his racquet..he beat it over everything...the wall, clay and their chair until the racquet was completely destroyed
it was so loud that even players who were playing matches at other courts were looking at what is happening there hehehe
I believe Jirka and Tomas can win this one, they won the other matches very comfortably, they really enjoyed the matches
btw, yesterday their doubles match was interrupted by a storm with hails..hailstorm? in 5 minutes there was a layer of water on the court...the water couldn't manage to flow away through the conduits? you even couldn't see the white lines on the court through the water
anyway the match was suspended on all courts. the score was 6-2 for Tomas and Jirka
and after a half an hour or maybe more they drained other courts so they played the second set on court no.6 and won it easily 6-0!
btw, the center court has a retractable roof so it could be closed..but they didn't close the roof because they couldn't find some key to it
okay, although I didn't really talk to Tomas, I got a photo with him on Tuesday and yesterday got his autograph (wrote Tom Berdych). He was very nice and obliging...as it is his (and Jirka Novak's too) home town everybody knew them and they were very friendly to everybody...and at their matches, Novak's singles and then their doubles, the center court was full!! The atmosphere was very nice because you could move there everywhere and so the players...you could meet them everywhere you went and almost nobody was paying much attention that Tomas Berdych is going here right now. The same at the center court...you could sit where you wanted, there was nothing like VIP place, VIP seats! actually, on Tuesday I sat in the first row and RIGHT behind me sat Jarda Navratil and his companions, so i more or less heard everything they were saying and what Navratil said to Tomas and back
and yesterday I sat in the second row, next to me my friend and next to her Tomas's mother, Tomas's father and Jarda Navratil
it was wonderful sitting next to them I'm telling you!
hehe they had some photos of Tomas printed in a photoalbum..photos from Australia and other matches, also photos of Tomas when he played ice hockey and photos with Lucka...all were very nice
ohh btw, it was written somewhere that Tomas is not really nervous or bothered by waiting for the matches and I can only confirm that...for example it was five minutes before their match was played and he was walking through the area calm as a turtle (he looked like didn't even know he should be playing in a few minutes)..he was checking some clothes in the shop there
and he's sooooooooooo tall!
that is all now..i hope i didn't forget anything
if you want to know anything just ask
