Re: Jan Hajek

This guy is on fire. I remember when he caught my attention reaching the top 200 in early 2003, he was only 19 I think, but had a few problems since then. Looks like he finally made his breakthrough.

Good to see someone else that has noticed Jan's recent good form. Feel free to post in here, I seem to be the only one that wants to follow his results here.

Re: Jan Hajek

Is this the Hajek and Grinder appreciation thread?

Seriously he has been on fire winning Barletta, Braunschweig, Prostejov challengers and in the final of Prague as well.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Jan Hajek

Thanks for the pics of Jan, George, they're hard to come across for sure.

Re: Jan Hajek

Not a problem with the pics and I thought they would come in handy for sure and he should finish within the top 100 this year and that means he will come down to the Aus Open and I will watch him for sure.

He has talent, but these results have come from nowhere, there always seems to be a few players like that. I wonder when he will go onto the main tour.

Has anyone told that guy yet that there are also ATP events and that he could try to commit for them?
According to his atp playing activity he has a 0-1 record and that only match on the tour was 1972 in Hilversum!

http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/playerprofiles/playeractivity/...player=H571&x=10&y=10

Must have been a player with the same name...

Lol... good discovery. I didn't know he had never played an ATP match.

I am curious to see how he fares in the bigger events, he'll surely get a direct entry at the US Open. Some players have been having troubles to make the transition from challengers to ATPs (e.g. Berlocq, Pashanski), just hope it's not the case with Hajek.

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan Hajek is quite a common name in the Czech Republic and he was in the list for Stuttgart qualies, but he is in the final of Poznan.

Well he will just play mostly on the clay, though he could make Bucharest or Palermo.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
