Re: Jan Hajek

Well it looks like Jan is back in form, he picked up 3 straight sets victories over Mayer, Vliegen, and Silva-Vidal at the World Team Cup. He will play Jose Acasuso or Agustin Calleri in the final tomorrow.

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan has been attacking well and Jaro has been on the sideline helping him out as well and best of all he won by being aggressive and not passive, even when he was missing some shots.

Hope he continues on from here.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Jan Hajek

Hi guys, thanks for all the info. on Jan's progress

I was just wondering whether somebody could please tell me something about Jan's recent injury problems (I've been wondering why he is retiring so much). He is obviously a talented player and I would like to put money on him to beat Tojo in the FO first round. Any thoughts?

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan took out Thomas Johansson 7-5 7-6 7-6 in the first round of RG today, he's got a great chance to make it to the third round against Bohdan Uhilrach. If Jan keeps up his good form, he's got a legitimate shot at the fourth round/quarterfinals. Come on Jan!

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan is into the third round with a 1-6 6-2 7-6(6) 3-6 6-2 win over Ulihrach. First time into the third round of a major for Jan. Baghdatis is next.

Re: Jan Hajek

Good stuff by Jan, seems he has realised that he can play at this level and Baghdatis won't be easy at all.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Jan's shoulder problem is fine and is back trying to defend his title in Prostejov, some pics from 2006 and the shoulder problem from RG.

Re: Jan Hajek

I realised Jan the first Time in Dusseldorf this year where I saw him playing and he is a really good player with a lot of potential. I am following more of his matches since Dusseldorf and I will see him again in Stuttgart in a few weeks. I hope he can improve a lot in the next weeks/months...

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan is on the Entry List of all the summer clay events, though as an alternate, we'll see whether he gets in.

Here are some pics of Jan at Wimbledon, thanks Princess Adam.

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan started the season at 469 and is now in the 330s, if he keeps the form up, he should be able to make the low 200s at the end of the year, if he is fit.

He hasn't been playing Futures, he has been playing Challenger qualies and making many main draws. Best result this year was the recent semi final in Athens as a qualie, didn't lose a set until losing to Rui Machado in 3.

Jan qualified for Ostrava, took out Mayer and Mello both in straight sets.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
