Re: Jan Hajek

he is up a set and a break against Riba. this should be on centre court, they are both in top 100.

Re: Jan Hajek

He wins 6-0, 6-2! Jan plays cilic in round 2. Cilic has been in poor form since Australian Open so maybe he can beat him.

Re: Jan Hajek

Hajek beat Bossel and will play Kamke for a place in the MD.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan had an up and down season, and only won 8 matches (one being a D.C. match) after May, but he did enough this season to finish in the top 100, and for the first time in his career, finish consecutive seasons within the top 100 in the world. Jan struggled with a 4-12 ATP record off clay, but did finish 9-9 on his favorite surface, a good step in the right direction. He also won, which is undoubtedly his favorite event, the Prostejov challenger, for the third time and second straight season.

Next season, Jan will want to establish himself as a good second tier clay courter, and try to win a few more hard court matches. After his heart and knee issues, many would have written him off, so it's great to see him even playing. Now, hopefully he can have some continued good fortune and some better performance in 2011

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan might miss the Aus Open, though I hope not as he withdrew from both Brisbane and Doha.

Seems he has a problem with his achillies.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Jan Hajek

not a good start to the season for Jan

I hope he makes the Australian Open but missing the warm up tournaments could cost him automatic entry.

where did you hear about his injury?

Re: Jan Hajek

Jan is direct entry into Aus Open, so he will be playing qualies at either Auckland or Sydney.

I found the news on a Czech site that was promoting Wozniacki playing in the Czech league.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Jan Hajek

he lost to Roddick. It looks like he could have rushed back from injury.

Re: Jan Hajek

he lost to Nishsikori in San Jose 6-1, 7-6.

He had a lot of chances in 2nd set and was up a break. I think he needs to play a few challengers to get some match practice, then I think he will be able to win a few tour matches after that and break back into top 100.

Re: Jan Hajek

He should be the 2nd choice player for the Czech Republic in Davis Cup since Stepanek withdrew. However Jan also pulled out of the same tournament with injury but said he would make the tie.

I hope he can play as well as last time when he brilliantly lead the team to an easy win against Chile in the 2010 quarter final, good luck!

Re: Jan Hajek

Good to see Jan is taking it seriously this week as he needs to make the RG draw directly.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
