Jan had an up and down season, and only won 8 matches (one being a D.C. match) after May, but he did enough this season to finish in the top 100, and for the first time in his career, finish consecutive seasons within the top 100 in the world. Jan struggled with a 4-12 ATP record off clay, but did finish 9-9 on his favorite surface, a good step in the right direction. He also won, which is undoubtedly his favorite event, the Prostejov challenger, for the third time and second straight season.
Next season, Jan will want to establish himself as a good second tier clay courter, and try to win a few more hard court matches. After his heart and knee issues, many would have written him off, so it's great to see him even playing. Now, hopefully he can have some continued good fortune and some better performance in 2011
