Amer Delic quote

"It's been quite a ride," Delic said. "I think I'm the first Bosnian born player to win a match at the US Open."

Does he know Ivan was born in Bosnia, as well.

Re: Amer Delic quote

Obviously he doesn't, hence the 'I think', but then do you know the place of birth for every player on tour?
Not that big a deal, really.

You probably don´t know the place of birth for every player on tour, but you should know the ones born in your country....

Re: Amer Delic quote

Oh come on, the boy had just won his first match at the US Open. He was excited and probably not thinking straight, is it so wrong to forget a little fact? It's not like he was saying he was the only Bosnian ever to accomplish something in tennis.
It's doubtful that he meant anything by it, it probably just slipped his mind.

Besides, I think these days the US is more 'his country.' *shrugs*
