The Reading Corner

Ok, a little change
We can use this thread to talk about the books we've read, the ones that we loved, and the ones we hated!
I think it's a good idea to put "spoiler" warnings in case we're gonna talk exclusively about something, and maybe there's someone who hasn't read it or hasn't finished reading it, and we could spoil the reading

Re: The Da Vinci Code

Ok well I read it, thought it was nice.. but not the best. Can see why the make a fuss about it, all has to do with the curch. Think a couple of days ago the curch also made an announcement about it.

Personly I thought that the Dante club from pearl was better.

Re: The Da Vinci Code

What a great idea Jazz! But I can't talk about it because I didn't read it yet. I am reading motorcycle diaries at the moment.

Re: The Da Vinci Code

This book is next on my "must read" list. Great idea for a thread, by the way. Maybe we should include a reader's section for the books we've read or will read? Still....great idea.

Yes....why not. Maybe when I finish teaching, I can begin reading this book.

Re: The Da Vinci Code

I have a book that I'm reading for another book club, so I really don't have time to read Da Vinci Code. Maybe next month when things slow down, I will begin reading.

Re: The Da Vinci Code

I do too. That's why I'm waiting until the end of April to pick up any more books. I can't handle it, teaching, and finishing projects for my class. It's too much right now.

Re: The Reading Corner

I usually read Latin American or Spanish books, but the last one I read was the Da Vinci Code, cause everyone recommended it to me. Believe it or not, I read it in two days!!!!
It was a very interesting reading, however as Jud said, I don't think it was the best book ever. And I don't get all the fuss the Church is making about it...I see they can be offended, but IMO they are exaggerating, and all they're making is people more interested in reading the book. I was thinking about buying the sequel: Angels and Demons. Has anyone read that one? Is it any good?
