Hello everyone! My name is Marilene. I am very new to this forum, and relatively new to tennis itself, having first been attracted by last year's Davis Cup final.
I understand the basics in tennis, though I don't claim to know all the strokes and nuances so please feel free to correct me if I make any errors.
My favourite players usually have big serves/big forehands like Andy Roddick and Fernando Verdasco. Recently, however, I have become a fan of Novak (due to his performances on clay this year), and Andy Murray (definitely has potential to do much better). I also tend to support French players because they can spring surprises on top seeds (eg. Gilles defeating Federer multiple times and Jo-Wilfried beating Rafael Nadal in the 2008 AO), although their temperament means that they tend to disappoint too. Lastly, I would prefer Rafa to Federer as no. 1 mainly because he keeps his mouth shut and is more humble. I am not really a fan of either of their playing styles, though.
Enough introduction to me, I think. Once again hello to all!
