Hello everyone! My name is Marilene:wavey:. I am very new to this forum, and relatively new to tennis itself, having first been attracted by last year's Davis Cup final.

I understand the basics in tennis, though I don't claim to know all the strokes and nuances so please feel free to correct me if I make any errors.

My favourite players usually have big serves/big forehands like Andy Roddick and Fernando Verdasco. Recently, however, I have become a fan of Novak (due to his performances on clay this year), and Andy Murray (definitely has potential to do much better). I also tend to support French players because they can spring surprises on top seeds (eg. Gilles defeating Federer multiple times and Jo-Wilfried beating Rafael Nadal in the 2008 AO), although their temperament means that they tend to disappoint too. Lastly, I would prefer Rafa to Federer as no. 1 mainly because he keeps his mouth shut and is more humble. I am not really a fan of either of their playing styles, though.

Enough introduction to me, I think. Once again hello to all!:wavey:

My real name is Laura, but I don't like it very much ^_^
I'm relatively new to tennis so I can't judge which is my fave I guess  I like some players because of their personality and how much I enjoy watching them, even if I don't understand most of the things  I like the guys who have a good service, I can say.
All this said, my favourites are Safin and Delpo :)
And I always cheer for Argentinians :haha:

How did I find MTF?? Well, it's all Marat's fault
When he retired I started suffering some kind of withdrawal symptoms and would stay up to 4 am searching for interviews, videos, articles, photos, quotes of him :p I'm still in that process ^_^
So googling...I arrived here :)))

Singapore, and we don't have many top tennis players here so I am free to support any other country that happens to be doing well.:D

I like Marat Safin's play quite a bit, but too bad he is retired already. As for Juan Martin Del Potro, he is talent no doubt. There are still places for improvement game-wise, especially while on his second serve, but he is still young so I am pretty sure he'll do better with time.;)

LOL @ Deck's comment. Deck is an interesting name too!:wavey:
