Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

Why is Andy such a favorite? Hasn't anyone checked their h2h?

I think it's usually based on rankings and current form.

This should be a fun one... for once I am really upset that ESPN isn't televising a Roddick match!

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

bunk18bsb, you are quite right about their h2h record (4-0), with Haas won all their previous encounters. However, the last three wins were all on CLAY which was (and is) Andy's least favourite surface. Anyone (even Oliver Mutis) can beat Andy on clay. Their last encounter on hard court was in 2001 when Andy was still a kid and did not have any experience. Even that match was not that straight. The only one that can easily beat Andy Roddick on hard court at the moment is out of the tournament now.

Anyway, Tommy Haas's won over Robin Soderling in 3 sets. The score looks like a hard win to me, which in a way shows the form of Haas is not THAT good.

Well, who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

oh I know jackielan... I was at their match in Houston and I know Andy wasn't playing his best yet only lost with one break in each set. But I don't know if Andy's playing his best this week either. Oh well, I won't be here anyway lol. Andy's said he would love "another chance" at TOmmy, and personally I don't think that matches that happened 2 yrs ago really matter that much, especially on clay where Andy's concerned... so yeah.

But wow, some people are gonna lose a whole lotta vcash on this one lmfao

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

Who should I put money on? Both Tommy and Andy have been on fire on hardcourt this summer.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

This match is all Andy. I cant see Haas doing anything on Andy's serve. Yes, Haas has the 4-0 record on Andy but the last 3 matches were on clay. Sh*t, 50 yr old Chris Evert can beat Andy on clay. On a hard-court, Andy will blow him away. It will be 6-3, 6-4. Easy win for Andy.

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

Andy will hardly blow Tommy away Lady Natilia. You're forgetting that Haas has a big serve himself, so breaks will seldom come in this match, espcially for Andy. And the fact that Haas also can return Roddick's serve well, and has much more variety in his game than Andy. If Tommy is on, it'll be duck stew tonight.

Re: Andy Roddick vs. Tommy Haas

Next time, please make an intelligent post, Lady Natilia, and not just a ridiculous statement, such as 'A very easy win for Andy. 6-3, 6-4' , use some facts to support this.
