Yeah Lili....Acasuso is his opponent....kinda tough one, you know, given Nico's level nowadays....

Re: Nico Lapentti thread

Hi everyone!
I'm Nico's fan for quite a while now and I never looked good enough to notice this thread .
Might be a bit confusing but I'm catching up on everything I've missed :P .
I read it all and I also thought that Daniella and Nico broke up, like someone said in an older post here.
But it's nice to see other Nico fans here! I hope he plays in Holland next year, I've never seen him play.

Re: Nico Lapentti thread

And here I am again.
I have a question and I didn't find the answer myself.
Does someone know how he got that scar above his left eye?

Re: Nico Lapentti thread

Nico Lapentti is past his prime. his younger bro Giovanni could probably beat him now. i admit, he used to be a good player (Top 10), but now he is not that great. He has a record of 7-15 in ATP events and his Champions Race position is a ghastly 108. He was struggling so much that he entered a Challenger Event in Bermuda. Now u would think a former Top 10 player would roll to a title at a Challenger Event. Wrong!! He lost in the 2nd round to Jan Frode Andersen!!! Lapentti hasn't even made it past the round of 32 at any event this year. The most matches he has won at a tournament was the 2 matches he won at the Pacific Life Open. Oi. This guy needs to get better

Though I don't know exactly how it happened, it wasn't from his childhood. I seem to recall him turning up at the US Open a few years back with a big cut on his forehead. I never found out how he got it, though.

I didn't read this before, so I react to it now. I think he's playing like this because of his back problems. I read somewhere that he had an injury on his back when he was ranked 6 and that he couldn't play for six months. And I noticed in the matches of him i saw on tv that his back still is a problem for him.
I hope it gets better but I don't think so after such a long time .

Ok, so it isn't from his childhood, that's already some info that I didn't know. I hope he comes to Holland sometime, so that i can ask him . I'm trying to find the answer for over a year know .
