From the latest reports, seems as if everything is okay.

But I feel sorry for Nico - there always seems to be something bad that they try to bring him into in Chile.

Re: Nico Off Season Reports...Have A Wonderful Vacation NICO ALE!!!

Here's the interview in Radio Cooperativa.cl. Just my humble opinion, but I think Nico needs to play Brasil whether he's tired or not. That part of the year is where he picks up his points. Without that, he's going to sink in the rankings.

Great to see how hard he's working. So proud of the pumpkin.

From Radio Cooperativa:

Nicolas Massú works with doubts on defending his title in Costa do Sauipe.

The viñamarino coaches harshly from Monday in Buenos Aires looking to his calendar 2007, without defining still if will play in the summer contest of Brazil, fjado for the following week to the Davis Cup.

Nicolas Massú took up again with forces his training from Monday, installed in Buenos Aires next to his coach Gabriel Markus, but with a great questioning regarding its calendar 2007: to defend the title in the tournament of Costa do Saupie.

The doubts of the viñamarino pass for the modification dated that carried out the ATP and that left the start of the just Brazilian contest after the match of Davis Cup against Russia, set for the 9, 10 and 11 of February.

"It is not very pleasing for me, to know that they changed the calendar and that after Davis Cup comes the tournament of Brazil. If we are playing Sunday against Russia, is going to be quite difficult that can play in Costa do Sauipe, where I defend the title, but I can defend it in other tournaments, because I have various where to play", indicated.

Up to now the championships that has confirmed Massú are: Auckland, Australia Open, Vina del Mar, Davis Cup, Buenos Aires, Acapulco and the Masters Series of Indian Wells and Miami.

The number two of Chile complies exhausting daily days of eight hours, among work in court and gymnasium, with a view toward one of his large ueños and challenges: to win the Davis Cup.

"They are the things that today more motivate me in my career, always I have said that I would love some day to play a Davis Cup or to win it. We have to be very well Fernando (González) and I, that is what more is worth, to treat that us not rare courts they touch as this year with United States on grass, that have a drawing more or less regular, and possibly to play all of localities, thing that is very important", expressed.

"The début is not easy, we play surely against the champion. Argentina can beat Russia, but I believe that the Russians are more favorites because they play locally", added regarding the final that will star in this week their rival in the first round of the World Group 2007. (Cooperative.cl)
