Re: Nico's (tentative) 2006 Schedule - see first post for schedule

So he will be off for over a month...lots of negative to that but maybe some off time will do him good right now. The daily grind may be getting to him, and time off may be good for him mentally at least. guess its going to happen so I have to find some positives.

Re: Nico's (tentative) 2006 Schedule - see first post for schedule

Nico is on the alternate list for Madrid - don't know whether he'll try to qualify or skip it. Obviously AA isn't really an alternate, and don't know if Andreev or Ancic will be back by then.

Alternates
1. Chela, Juan Ignacio ARG 37
2. Vliegen, Kristof BEL 38
3. Agassi, Andre USA 39
4. Johansson, Thomas SWE 40
5. Massu, Nicolas CHI 41
6. Coria, Guillermo ARG 42
7. Srichaphan, Paradorn THA 43
8. Serra, Florent FRA 44
9. Verkerk, Martin NED 44 @#
10. Almagro, Nicolas ESP 45
11. Wawrinka, Stanislas SUI 46
12. Clement, Arnaud FRA 47
13. Moya, Carlos ESP 48
14. Santoro, Fabrice FRA 49
15. Martin, Alberto ESP 50
16. Benneteau, Julien FRA 51
17. Simon, Gilles FRA 52
18. Volandri, Filippo ITA 53
19. Youzhny, Mikhail RUS 54
20. Mirnyi, Max BLR 55

I can't believe all the alternates ... it seems that not only us, Nico's fans, are having a nightmare for this ranking thing ... anyway Buena Suerte Nico!!!

Well Agassi is out but Ancic plays in Beijing now. With Alt4 he has a chance to qualify for Madrid.

Or we need a WC voting like last year.

of course that we'd want the wc card by voting but I'm sure that it won't happen again

I remember I voted several times per day and Nico lost in 1st round

But if we had to vote again, I'll do it

Tommy - Question - isn't the alternate list and qualifying list two different things? You can qualify without being an alternate - and vice versa, you can be on the alternate list and decide not to qualify.

Alx - I voted all the time too last year. And I would do it again this year even though the way he played was . I guess the tournament director in Madrid told him afterwards that he let everyone down by the way he played. So he apologized at the end of the season for it. Sweet chico.

Re: Nico's (tentative) 2006 Schedule - see first post for schedule

oh well this alternate and qualifying list is kind of complicated hopefully Tommy could help us

well I don't want to be rude but I voted my ass off the last year!!! I had like 5 windows opened and voting at the same time during the all day, I'm sure that between all of us, his fans outside Chile, we voted more than the ones in Chile ... he's a sweet chico and I'll do it again!!! so I don't care if I finished with my fingers all hurt, I'd give my boy another wild card if I could

Re: Nico's (tentative) 2006 Schedule - see first post for schedule

It seems we have a little misunderstanding here. Yes you can be on the alternate list and decide not to qualify. I don't know if Nico want to play the qualification there. But I think it's possible that 4 or maybe 5 players in front of him withdrawal from Madrid, than he's in.

Re: Nico's (tentative) 2006 Schedule - see first post for schedule

Thanks TommyB!

I hope he gets into the main draw. But if he doesn't, I hope he qualifies. I don't like it when guys won't try to qualify. But that's just me.

Yes let's hope he gets into the main draw. Otherwise Nico has to try the quali, if he doesn't play finals in Stockholm at the weekend before it.
