2005: What A Long Strange Trip Its Been

So glad the season’s over. Poor Nico.

Started off with a hernia, tendinitus in his ankle, stress factor in his foot, and ankle injury. Lula. Caught in the middle of the crazy web of “la familia de tenis.” Difficult comeback. Firing Pato. No coach. Going back to Chile before Wimbledon. Enzo Artoli, the poor man’s Carlos Moya, as temporary “coach.” Summer success in Gstaad and Kitz. Thank god Gaby comes back. Semi-success at the US Open. The usual crazy match at the US Open, this time against Guille – must be something in the New York air. A fall season that needs to be quickly forgotten.

Here’s to 2006.

He’s got a great coach. He’s fit again. He’s going to go to the sports psychologist. He and Gaby have a plan for the offseason.

NICO WILL BE BACK.

LOVE YA NICO!

If I had magical powers, I would make this entire bad season disappear and replace it with all wins for you.

Re: 2005: What A Long Strange Trip Its Been

To all the Chileans on the forum – please take good care of my angelito for me. Don’t let the press be mean to him. And por favor, no more Lula’s .

Have a great offseason!!!! I’m going to be working on my thesis, but will check in now and again when there’s Nico news. And hopefully there won’t be any Nico news – he’ll be on vacation, and then off to train for 2006.

What a rollercoaster for Nico. All the success of 2004 and then 2005....Well, we all know he'll be back in 2006! I know Nico will work hard and with Gaby's coaching we will see our warrior agian in January!

Love ya always Nico and have a good, private offseason!!!

What a great review of this sh*tty season that you gave us NicoFan, but you're right and I'm pretty sure that he'll come back on 2006

He has made the best decisions and now it's time that all the effort that he made, paid some rewards for him

He'll be back, 'cause Nico is not just an ordinary tennis player, he always plays with talent, technique, heart and soul... Our fighter will be back!! So to the others on the out: be aware of our chileno!!

Have a great off season to all and now to focus on the next season, 'cause we'll have great news, I know!!!

We love ya Nico!!! You're the best!!!

This season was awful for Nico, After USO 6 matches in a row it's too much for him.. Let's hope donesn't affect him too much and I want to see Nico & Feña doing real damage in 06 (BOTH!!)

Nico ends the year at #67. Drops 8 places after Paris. That totally sucks.

Poor Nico...love ya Nico.

You will be back strong in 2006!!!
