Re: Nico Does New York, New York

Well you're right it could be worst but a big serve is kind of important in hardcourts, but anyway, the best for Nico in the USO and good luck for tomorrow!!

Just fight tomorrow Nico!!! You could do it!!

Re: Nico Does New York, New York

Jan-Mike was a real force to be reckoned with a few years ago (especially on fast surfaces), but he seems to have gone downhill rapidly lately, and rarely makes the latter stages of tournaments. I saw Feña absolutely destroy him at Roland Garros a year or so ago - he definately doesn't have any tennis brain or idea of tactics. I guess the crowd support will be in his favour, but I think Nico should be OK

I think so too - I'm really pleased with this draw. If he can make it to the 3rd round, I'll be really happy - considering his year, that will be a step in the right direction.

I crowd will be for Jan-Michael but Nico's used to that with Davis Cup.

Re: Nico Does New York, New York

I was checking the h2h today and surprise!

Massu 0 - Gambill 2

2002 Wimbledon, R128 36 67 36
2001 Auckland, R32 67 46

But they are different players now and I think that Nico should win his match

Re: Nico Does New York, New York

I was at the US Open today - saw Nico practicing against Carlos...he was really focused, but seemed relaxed.

Have to say again - its sooooo nice to see Gaby there coaching Nico...it just feels like calm has been restored after such a disasterous year. :-)

I have some good pictures but it takes time because I have to reduce them for this site.

Sometime tomorrow.

And going back tomorrow for Practice Day so I hope to get more!
