The boys won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess clay will have to wait...which is kind of sad because Nico really really really has to do well this summer clay season. Get his ranking back up.

lol! After I read it, I thought people will think I'm a big mean person.

But he was out most of the beginning of the season and couldn't practice, and then he just took 2 weeks off before Wimbledon and really didn't practice much - did the TV thing in Chile where he was on every show.

I think - and I'm speculating based on what he has said - that coming back was a lot tougher than he thought. I think that he thought that he would start doing better much more quickly. And I think he got very very discouraged about it. I think going back to Chile before Wimbledon, he just wanted to get away from everything. But based on what he said yesterday, he said that he has to confront improving again. Again though, I'm speculating.

And the only way for him to improve again is by working hard and getting back on court - and getting in match time.

So he knows, and I was just saying with him that its time for him to work through his problems on court - which he is usually good about...he loves working out and is a super hard worker. He'll do it!!!!!!!!!!! And he'll be fine during the summer clay season. They said he played very well yesterday - it was just the surface and Gimelstob's serve that did him in.

I have to admit I got a chuckle out of that Nicofan! How can one hope for their favs to loose even when it might be for their own good? Anyway, I'm glad they won too even though I see your point.

Gaston-best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

Made me laugh too - though I do see what Nico means. Actually Gimelstob is doing pretty well against Hewitt at the moment (I'm watching on TV), so he is a good player on the ghastly grass! Mind you, David is still in the singles here and doing well, so I shouldn't hate grass too much. Btw Coria is still in the tourney - he beat Malisse in 5 sets yesterday.

They're showing the Hewitt/Gimelstob match on ESPN now and there is some solace seeing him play Hewitt tough too. Can't help but think it should be Nico there tho...And good luck to David!!! I'm fairly new to tennis but I remember David playing Fernando at the Oz Open and being impressed with him.

Re: London Calling - Grass May Be For Cows But Nico Will Play Wimbledon!

David is one of the few Spanish speaking players who actually prefers grass and hard courts to clay His parents owned hard courts in the town where he grew up so he was brought up playing on them - he loves the nasty, slippery green stuff so it's the only thing that makes Wimbledon bearable for me And actually I would prefer to forget Coria (he is my least favourite player on the entire ATP tour ) but it IS nice to see JCF, Feli Lopez and Feña still in the tourney!

I know - no one likes Guille.

But I give him the benefit of the doubt despite his behavior. The lovely Carla has obviously found something good in him so I figure its buried down deep there somewhere inside of him... Maybe he'll mature on of these days so the rest of us can see it too.

If I say too much about the Weasel here then it will attract the vile trolls back onto this Forum and none of us want that, - so let's just say - Carla is a lovely lady and whatever is buried inside him is buried VERY deep

lol! We will leave it at that, because no, we don't want the trolls back...

And Carla is lovely. I hope Nico can find someone nice like that.
