Re: Happy Hanukkah [Chanukah]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here's my favorite Hanukkah song...Adam's Sandler Hanukkah song!

(No picture...but you can hear the song...):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEY2KOXrSZI

Intro: Ok, this a, this is a song, that uh, theres alot of Christmas songs out there, and uh, not too many Hanukkah songs, so I wrote a song for all those nice little Jewish kids who dont get to hear any Hanukkah songs--here we go...

Put on your yalmulka, here comes Hanukkah
Its so much fun-akkah to celebrate Hanukkah,

Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights,
Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights.

When you feel like the only kid in town without a Christmas tree, Heres a list of
people who are Jewish, just like you and me:

David Lee Roth lights the menorrah,
So do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah

Guess who eats together at the Karnickey Deli,
Bowzer from Sha-na-na, and Arthur Fonzerrelli.

Paul Newmans half Jewish; Goldie Hawns half too,
Put them together--what a fine lookin’ Jew!

You dont need Deck the Halls or Jingle Bell Rock
Cause you can spin a dreidl with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock--both Jewish!

Put on your yalmulka, its time for Hanukkah,
The owner of the Seattle Super sonic-ahs celebrates Hanukkah.

O.J. Simpson-- not a Jew!
But guess who is...Hall of Famer—Rod Carew--(he converted!)

We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby,
Harrison Fords a quarter Jewish--not too shabby!

Some people think that Ebeneezer Scrooge is,
Well, hes not, but guess who is: All three stooges.

So many Jews are in show biz--
Tom Cruise isn't, but I heard his agent is.

Tell your friend Veronica, its time to celebrate Hanukkah
I hope I get a harmonica, on this lovely, lovely Hanukkah.

So drink your gin-and-tonic-ah, and smoke your mara-juanic-ah,
If you really, really wanna-kah, Have a happy, happy, happy, happy
Hanukkah……. HAPPY HANUKKAH!

Re: Happy Hanukkah [Chanukah]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are eight days of Hanukkah but not sure why. I'll have to look it up. It's the holiday of the Festival of Lights, and you have to light one candle each day of the menorrah.

And yes, I changed my signature, but only for a couple of weeks to celebrate the USA's win. I'll change it back to Nico after next week.

Re: Happy Hanukkah [Chanukah]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are supposed to get a present everyday! I'm converting...

Actually the people who I know that are Jewish don't do that because it obviously would be muy expensive. They just give one or two just like people do at Christmas. Or they give tiny presents the other days.

Re: Happy Hanukkah [Chanukah]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Close Sparko!

I found this on Wikipedia:

Hanukkah, from the Hebrew word for "dedication" or "consecration", marks the re-dedication of the Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration by the forces of Antiochus IV and commemorates the "miracle of the container of oil." According to the Talmud, at the re-dedication following the victory of the Maccabees over the Seleucid Empire, there was only enough consecrated olive oil to fuel the eternal flame in the Temple for one day. Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days, which was the length of time it took to press, prepare and consecrate fresh olive oil.
