So this Paty Mancerola -- what is the name of the soap? We get telenovelas on our TLN [telelatino] station here.

You mean our Teddy Bear won't be a single bear for much longer??

Auckland tournament confirms Gonzalez's presence for 2006

Defending champion Fernando Gonzalez of Chile has said "I'll be back"
after literally powering his way to the 2005 title at the Heineken Open and is currently ranked at a career high No13 in the world.

He will have a chance to become the first person to win the Heineken Open in consecutive years since Kiwi Onny Parun 1975-76.

Last January all of his opponents in Auckland were on the back foot as he reeled off winners from all parts of the court eventually beating Belgium's Oliver Rochus in the final.

Facing a difficult draw Gonzalez didn't have easy matches on paper, although he almost made it look easy beating James Blake, Mariano Zabaleta, Robby Ginepri and Juan Ignacio Chela before defeating Rochus
6-4 6-2 in the final.

In 2005 Gonzalez also won three titles including, Basel on the weekend over Marcos Baghdatis in the final to take his career tally to seven. He also won at Amersfoot in the Netherlands beating Agustin Calleri in the final.

His record in Grand Slams this year is very consistent with a third round appearance at the Australian Open, third round at Roland Garros before losing to Roger Federer, quarter-finals at Wimbledon, again losing to Federer and then a third round finish at the US Open.

"It is a great start to our player announcement for this summers Heineken Open to have such an exciting champion coming back to defend the Sovereign singles title," says Heineken Open tournament director, Graham Pearce.

Re: Gonzo Articles and News

I am so happy tha Fernando had a marvelous year, but sad and depressed that he lost today. Having played such an awesome season, especially last two weeks, I have to look at the positive side. He has proven that he is the most exciting and exhilirating playe and a fantastic profesional, and a great human being ( his off court and on court demeanour). So Vamos Fena in 2006. I hope you will successfully defend all your titles, and win more, improving on 2005; and be safely established in the top ten and stay there forever (i.e. until you quit tennis). Also I wish you will remain safe and injury free for the rest of your career. I also wish you the rest of 2005 will be good for you and your loved ones. Viva Chile.

MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY!!

Guillermo Vilas will have González as special guest

Ex- number two of the world will organize a tournament where the Chilean will be one of the main attractions
The ex- tennis player contacted himself with the first national racket to have him in the Cup that will have his name and that will take place between 4 and 6 of December in the Luna Park of Buenos Aires.

Guillermo Vilas did not think it twice. He always wanted to have Fernando González like one of the main attractions of the Cup that will have his name and that will have its first edition between 4 and 6 of December of this year. "he called me, Guillermo, directly, to have Fernando in the exhibition. And we accorded an agreement, reason why already his presence in the championship is confirmed ", comments Fernando González father, representative of the tennis player. An honor for the santiaguino.

The participation of the first national racket in this tournament is confirm and will take place in the legendary Luna Park of Buenos Aires, that has a capacity for seven thousand spectators and that has been scenary of fights by the world-wide title of boxing. A court "of wood" will be made to play the event in Argentina., as Christian Fernandez explains, one of the ones in charge.

Other guests

The number one of Chile will put a parenthesis in the pre-season that will be doing for those days to play this championship. Also are confirmed the Argentine Gastón Gaudio (number 11 of the world and champion of Roland Garros 2004) and the American James Blake (24º ATP and Quaterfinalist of the US Open 2005). They don't know who will be the fourth player. It can be a player from Argentina or another international star.

The agenda of the tournament is already established. During the first day, the great attraction will be to see the own Vilas play an exhibition match. The other two days the matches between the guests will be played. They will dispute encounters on december 5 and in the following day the two winners will face each other to see who is the champion of the first edition of this cup that intends to be become a tradition. "For Vilas it is very important to include a figure like Fernando, because he thinks that his game is very attractive, besides he is one of the best tennis players of South America", adds Fernandez.
