Re: Gonzo Articles and News

No thread started for Fernando for the US Open and now there is no reason to. He retired at the begining of the 3rd set against a qualifier. Hopefully my favorite will be able to recover and play competivly again.

Re: Gonzo Articles and News

The end is near imho guys, Gonzo's injury is really serious and he won't be the same after this. Well, in my point of view Feña has nothing to show to us, he's a legend and he'll be a hero for always, no matter what happens in the future.

Well, while I know you may very well be right Felipe, I can't help but still hope you are wrong. But he is 30 now and I know that not many players play past that age. I must admit to being a bit selfish-I just haven't been able to get as excited about anyother players like I am/was with Nico and Fernando and if Fernando must retire than tennis isn't going to be as much fun for me. You are absoultly right though-Fernando has accomplished so much in his career and no matter what the future holds he is already a hero!

Re: Gonzo Articles and News

No, he'll have surgery in his hip. He'll be out 9 months at least, could miss all 2011 trying to play a full season again in 2012. But, this is not official.

Re: Gonzo Articles and News

Oh good! Sounded like he was leaning towards just giving up from his Twitter, but this is great. Well, not great, but okay. He'll have a PR high enough to get into majors

...but I just saw this Tweet from last week

He said that only to shock some newspaper who said "in exclusive" that Gonzo will have surgery, and Feña is in a big fight with that media since a few time ago cause of the DC last year, he was toying with that. It's 100% clear that he needs surgery to heal his injuries.
