It will all go down to Querrey vs Evans and on home soil, i'll go with Querrey
The Bryan's will fall.

Hmm interesting, the way i see it is that Murray will win both of his 2 rubbers for sure. The Bryan's should win the doubles rubber, and most probably will, but am i right in saying they have lost their last 2 DC rubbers against Brazil and Serbia? Murray and Fleming are a good doubles team, and are probably better then the teams that have previously beaten the Bryan's so i wouldn't completely rule out a GB win in this rubber. Isner would probably do Dan Evans, although Dan would be likely to dictate rallies, and the longer the game went on, the more i would fancy Dan's chances while Querrey is a joke at the minute. No confidence, no belief, very few wins and a ranking continually on the down, I would fancy Dan to beat him if they played tomorrow. That said, Sam can't be playing worse when this tie played then what he is playing now, but on current form, I wouldn't even put him in the US team. Jack Sock or someone like Bradley Klahn, who has won plenty of matches this year albeit at a lower level would be a better option. At least they have some confidence in their game and Klahn has infact beat Evans already this year in the US (aptos final), so I would be more worried if he played!

Re: 2014 World Group Draw

Some interesting surface decisions

USA will host on clay outdoor Great Briatain
Japan will host on indoor hard Canada
France will host Australia on indoor clay
Germany will host on indoor hard Spain (why they didn't pick grass)

Re: 2014 World Group Draw

USA picks clay. Tactical choice, is this the first time they've ever chosen clay for a home game? Much like back in 2003, Australia played GB and chose clay. Andy Murray is the only Brit that plays a lot of clay court tennis.

In general, Murray's game is suited for clay, but I feel like Murray’s shots don't quite have the weight needed on clay. He just needs to find his game again cause now he’s losing against players that neither are in the first places.

Tennis is a perfect combination of violent action taking place in an atmosphere of total tranquillity.

Final venue

If Switzerland goes into the final, who will be the host, depending on the outcome of the 2nd semi?

Also, is it already possible to make a good guess in which town that final could be played?

Thanks

Re: Final venue

And in case it plays France, what possibilities are there for the venue? Paris...?

SUI will play away in the final (if they win in SF) regardless of their opponent. The last H2H tie is decisive, not the most recent tie of both teams.

That's btw a really big big issue for France if it is a France - Swiss because:
- Roland Garros is an open stadium so impossible to play in November at that place w/ the cold in France
- Bercy is in work and open only for ATP Bercy so unavailable..

And there is no other place in France adapted for such a big event..
