Spanish Qualifiers Wildcards?

Just wondering why they didn't go to young up and coming Spaniard players?
Why did they go to old duds like Burrieza 30, Munoz 30 (1 match all year) and Rascon 34 (1 match all year) ?

If they really wanted to give it to some old duds they could have done better and got Jordi Arrese, Alberto Berasategui & Jose Clavet

Hehehe...
Maybe these spanish players has better tennis for fast courts. Rascon is an example, he got a MD spot last year beating Volandri and Acasuso...

I saw that, but Volandri & Acasuso on Indoor Hard hardly an achievement of any note

Burrieza won a pre-wualifying tournament (if young Spaniards don't compete here is their problem)
and Muñoz is the nephew of Pedro Muñoz President of the Spanish Federation and former President of Madrid Tennis Federation ...

Re: Spanish Qualifiers Wildcards?

Well the ATP should put stipulations on the awarding of WC's because these guys getting in is a joke. Maybe for TMS there should be a rule that the player has to be ranked in the top 300 men or top 50 junior boys.
