"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Tough luck here, Jim. Phau knocked me out early. He's definitely on a run here...

But virex is in trouble too...as Dent lost his first set 4-6 and is having to fight hard at 4-all in the second.

I love my girls.

Re: SUICIDE JAPAN: DAY FIVE PICKS!

Phau is juiced. I just lost a ton of vcash betting on Ginepri And its.like.that is out of the game too. Sorry Jimbo, nobody saw that one coming. Great playing throughout the week though

JAPAN OPEN DAY FIVE RESULTS
Phau def Ginepri 6-4 6-3
Ancic def Baghdatis 6-1 7-6
Stepanek def Kim 6-1 6-3
Nieminen def Srichaphan 2-6 7-6 7-5
Moodie def Horna 7-6 6-7 6-4
Dent def Arthurs 6-6 6-7 6-3
---
Nieminen def Dent 6-4 5-7 7-6
Moodie def Stepanek 7-6 7-6

OK, where did these other two matches come from? Gah. Rain delays mess up the whole OOP But the very good news is that virex's pick won and so he is still in the game! Dent's eventual loss to Nieminen does not count against virex because that match was not listed as a choice, and virex had picked Dent over Arthurs, so his pick was correct. Well done virex! You're the last one standing. The $1500 vcash pot is all yours if you can pick the semifinalist and finalist correctly.

Somebody say a few kind words about our friend and gambler, Jim.

Hmm. I just noticed the date of virex's pick. Was he picking Dent over Arthurs or over Nieminen?

Well it does not matter now because I did not list the Nieminen match as a choice so whether it's correct or not I will go with the original assumption that his choice of Dent was for the Arthurs match. So virex is still in the game.

This will give me an opportunity to make a small adjustment to the next suicide matches played to avoid problems like this in the future. Because this rain delay caused some minor havoc where there have been some matches played that were not scheduled, not on the OOP, nor listed on the website until the very last minute (i.e., in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping), from now on when participants make their picks, they will name the match they are picking. For instance instead of naming their pick of "Dent" they will now say "Dent over Arthurs", etc.

The next tournaments will be indoors so rain won't be a problem. Yay! But it's good to fix these little nicks now while we can.

Re: SUICIDE JAPAN: DAY FIVE PICKS!

^^ Quite interesting as Dent did in fact play two matches today (I'm presuming his match against Wayno was a suspended match )

Anyhow...Tang's ruling stands. Go get 'em, virex!

I love my girls.

yer, besides the fact that Dent beat Arthurs 5 hours prior to Virex's tip.
