Early Commitments

Quote:
The Legg Mason Tennis Classic presented by GEICO is proud to announce that Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and James Blake are among the first players to commit to the event in 2005.

Agassi, a sure future Hall of Famer, returns to the courts of the William H. G. Fitzgerald Center seeking a record sixth title. Andy Roddick, who won his first-ever hard court championship (’01) right here in Washington, also returns aiming to take a second LMTC title. And finally, James Blake, who unfortunately experienced an injury-plagued season in 2004, is back with a vengeance battling to regain the form that earned him the title at the 2002 LMTC.

We hope to announce more commitments from the game’s best very soon.

After missing last year to play the Olympics in Athens, the Bryan Brothers will return to Washington in an attempt to win their first title. Bob and Mike have made it to the finals twice in previous years.

2004 was a banner year for the twins from Camarillo. They became the first team in almost 20 years to successfully defend the Tennis Masters Cup Doubles title when they defeated Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-2. In addition, they won 7 titles and had a record of 64-17. The brothers appeared in the Davis Cup Finals against Spain capturing the only US win over Juan Carlos Ferrero and Tommy Robredo.

The Legg Mason Tennis Classic presented by GEICO is proud to announce that Paradorn Srichaphan returns to Washington after representing Thailand in the 2004 Olympic games in Athens. With a new coach and trainer, Srichaphan is geared to make a run at the title. He last appeared in 2002, when he made it to the finals. Cheering him on will be his faithful supporters known as the “Sricha-Fans”. So far in 2005, Srichaphan has reached the finals of Chennai and the quarterfinals of Rotterdam.

Re: Early Commitments

It is also noted on the Legg Mason site that Singha Beer will be the Official Beer of the Legg Mason Classic - that should be interesting...
