German websites don't report anything as tennis is not very popular. Maybe ES will but here we have to wait a day or two

Re: Tommy news

This is what I get when I translate the Japanese site with Google translator from Japanese into Dutch:

- Tommy Haas (Duitsland): ※ officiële reden komen

= No official reason given/ official reason still has to come.. So still no news

Re: Tommy news

I don't know, but the Asian tournaments are not Tommy's favorites. Look at his playing activity over the years, he didn't play any tournament there, except of Bangkok twice. I think he will show up in Stockholm next.

Re: Tommy news

Hi guys, they sent me this:

Hi Eva,

everything's fine. You can read the reason for his withdraw in a few minutes on tommy-haas.com. He briefly describes his state of affairs in his new column.

Groetjes,

Ferdi

Re: Tommy news

He wrote on his website that he's just extending his time-out a little bit. Traveling to Asia is now more interesting since Shanghai has the Masters event, and Tommy still plans to play there. So playing Tokio or China Open would have been more convenient than ever before, but whatever ...

Re: Tommy news

Hey fans,

First off, the most important thing: I won't play in Tokyo yet next week, because I decided to extend my time out further. At long last my father is back in Florida as a guest and we are using this opportunity to venture out together more again.

He is keeping an eye on a Swiss tennis student at Nick Boletteri's, whom he wants to prepare for the tennis college in coming weeks. Maybe the boy will make to the tour, too, one day. I couldn't tell though as I haven't seen him on court often enough, yet. My father, however, is of the opinion that he has great talent.

Apart from that I am preparing for my return. Shanghai is my paramount goal. Once I am there, I will provide you with pictures again, too. I have obtained a new camera recently, which needs to be put to use yet.

Those are my latest news. All the best and bye for now!

Tommy

Re: Tommy news

Time-out ??! Ahh Tommy ,sorry but I'm not convinced, you'll have time out when the season finishes. But whatever, we at least can see him in Shangai, and thank goodness it wasn't injury related, on the other hand Tokyo could have been big opportunity to settle some more points.

Re: Tommy news

O come on, you're a professional tennis player! You can have lots of time-outs in a few years, after retirement. What crap this, not playing for a month...

Tokyo was so much downgraded after Federer and Murray pulling and he would really have had a good chance to go deep and earn lots of points. And it's a 500, aren't you supposed to show up at them unless you have an injury?

No You must play Masters 1000 events if you're injury free and if you are ranked inside the Top 30 at the beginning of the year.
