Well it makes sense in his "part time" kind of plan for the DC. I guess he wouldn't play an outward match against Austria, but at home and probably on a fast surface, and if he feels good, why not.
But the thing is, there are other German players right now who are a little more successful. I think a lot will depend on how Tommy will reemerge on the tour at the end of the season and next year.
