Re: Tommy news

Davis Cup Weltgruppe - "Leitwolf" kann nur Daumen drücken

Eurosport - Mi 06.Feb. 12:36:00 2008

Don't have time to translate the whole thing but in short:

Tommy is in Florida. He might need another surgery. Playing Delray Beach is very unlikely. He is working very much on his comeback but he is not sure if he can play a possible 2nd round Davis Cup tie but said he would talk about it with the coach if it's time for that....

Not very good news at all.

Re: Tommy news

Have you seen the story with the new surgery on other websites than Eurosport too? The ES website is totally clueless most of the time.
Sportbild says "heute scheint die Rückkehr auf die Tour dagegen nur eine Frage von Tagen zu sein" (his comeback should be just a question of days).

Re: Tommy news

If he doesn't intend to play, as we all expect, then he should have withdrawn before the main draw came out. Weird.

Re: Tommy news

I was in Braunschweig for the Davis Cup and word on the street said Tommy is only able to practice for 1 hour per day but will try to play Delray Beach to see how it works... So better not put too much hope into this

Re: Tommy news

Sounds like won't be able to last 3 long sets. Well, we'll see how he'll fare tonight against Hartfield.

He lasted 3 Sets, but got defeated I think this is yet another example of Tommy trying to come back to the Tour too quickly--when will he ever learn
