Re: BMW Open Munich

Hello German friends, as always I'm asking for a translation from Tommy's website. Thanks to anyone who will.

As usual a quick translation, don't blame for mistakes

Houston, QF: Game over against Jürgen Melzer

With 6:2, 2:6 and 4:6 I lost against Austria's number one Jürgen Melzer in the Quarterfinals - although everything was fine until 6:2 and 2:2. But then Jürgen won 4 straight games, broke me again in the 3rd set and then finally made it with this lead. My disappointment about that is huge. I wanted to defend my title so bad.

Looking forward to the BMW Open

Of course the loss has one advantage: I can go earlier to Germany and become acclimatized better, because the BMW Open in Munich will start on Monday. In 2000 I reached the final and lost against Argentine Franco Squillari.
As you know, my family lives in or near Munich. The trip to the BMW Open therefore is kind of a family visit as well. This year I will take part in 3 German tournaments. Apart from the BMW Open I'll be in Hamburg and Halle.

Re: BMW Open Munich

From Tommy's official site:

Good start at the BMW Open:

Munich. I am really satisfield with the way I played today. With a 7:5, 6:3 victory over Nicolas Almagro from Spain I reached the 2nd round of the BMW Open 2005. We played the fourth match of the day on centre court.

It´s so nice to be back in Germany after a couple of months. Above all it´s just great to see my family. Yesterday, we went to the players party together.
Tomorrow, I will practice with Paradorn Srichaphan. My next match will be on thursday.

Re: BMW Open Munich

Haas def. Lee 6-3 6-4

That looks clearly, right? But I should tell you it was quite a struggle and I lost count how many times Tommy was down 15-30, 0-30 or once even 0-40. However, he got through it without getting broken the whole match and he broke Lee's serve exactly at the end of the sets (once at 4-3* and another time at *4-4). But Lee was really playing well and contributed to the match to make it entertaining, even though it was IMO not the best match.

Next one is Arthurs. He can beat him, too. But Tommy must be more careful against Arthurs serve and he needs to find a way passing him at the net. Andreev didn't and lost to Arthurs. Thanks to a good draw, Tommy can reach the semifinal here in Munich quite easily. He should make use of it.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: BMW Open Munich

Thanks for the info Neely. I'm not a big fan of clay court tennis, but I would really like to see Tommy win this tournament. He has a better chance on grass, but I want him to feel that all these weeks in Europe (3 in Germany including Halle) were time well spent. He doesn't seem to have his rhythm just yet.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
