Re: Tommy in the Western & Southern Open- Cincy- Aug. 2012
Lugburz, thanks. They showed little of the match here. In the first set, Tommy appeared to be feeling the effects of the long tough match with Nalbandian (and probably his marathon Friday last week)--his footwork wasn't as good as usual. I think it is just as well that he lost to Del Potro now (esp. without a longer match), so that he can rest and not risk injury before the US Open.
He should pass Verdasco in the rankings this week, who went three rounds at Cincinnati last year, and will be only a few points behind Roddick, who defended last year's points, since he lost in the first round then. The other guys just below Tommy have already lost, and Ferrer will likely handle Wawrinka.
