Yeah, I think that's what Tommy wants to do, that's why he's still playing, to venture deep into a slam like the USO, to be successful, and to achieve that you have to beat top players anyway, so if that happens in the first round or in the fourth, in the end it's not such a big difference.
And just for the record: in spite of all the trouble Tommy had, this USO series was more successful than last year's. And the year doesn't end with the Open. I hope for Tommy that he can defend as many points as possible, and thus be motivated to continue playing well in the remaining year, so that he has a good position to start a new, finally and hopefully healthy season without such problems. For that, I would be glad if Tommy ended up in the Top 30 at the end of the year, and that should be his aim for the months to come.
Yeah, I guess I'm looking to far ahead, but these are just my thoughts right now.
