May be if we lower our expectations we might get a surprise Of course Donald Young is in this Tournament also

I honestly don't know what surprised me more--Tommy getting defeated by Young or the fact that he didn't seem upset by the loss

When he knows that he didn't play well ... what more is there to say? The less this stupid loss affects him the better, I'd say.

It was a stupid loss but Tommy has won all his first rounds since April. And L.A. is just a MM tournament. Another early exit in Washington or New York would hurt a lot more. I hope we won't see that.

Kind of behind our backs, the draw already came up.

Come on, this is perfect. Qualifier in the first round, and the rest of Tommy's quarter is as good as "empty".

And del Potro ... yeah, he won back to back titles recently, but both on clay, and other than that his season hasn't been particularly remarkable, especially not on hard court (although he's still in in LA).
Btw, do you really "only" need two ATP titles to climb up to no. 24 in the ranking?!

Now is the time to come up with the goods, Tommy. Come on!

Thanks for the link. Yeah, a promising draw. Lets hope for a good introduction to the USO.

In general I agree with the comments before - looks like a good draw. As long as Tommy is doing better than in LA he should be able to achieve a good result here.

Tommy Haas | Marat Safin | Rafael Nadal | Igor Andreev

Monfils | Murray | Davydenko | del Potro

No. 151 in the world. Now here is someone he HAS to beat.

At least I'll be awake this time. So nothing can go wrong ...
