No, I was watching it.
They said the heat *got* to him...It was very hot and humid.
They took him off and brought out a substitute.
(They reported that he was all right)

It happened near the end of the match.

Yes, and poor Roger has to fetch the balls himself

That's Mathieu, not Federer. Federer was wearing his usual headband, not a backwards cap.

Dick Enberg thought it was a ball"girl" who had collapsed until he was upright.

Heat and Wimbledon???

I always thought it was rain and Wimbledone

Glad to know that the kid is fine though.

Re: What happened to this ball boy!?

Heat!? OH, ball boys/girls and line judges should get enough water also during the matches. They are allowed to do that, right??

oh, i think when the match is on, the temperature may be up to nearly 30 degrees and the poor boy must be a bit not comfortable before the match already
god bless him!

I am not sure about Wimbledon, but I've never seen/heard that any stuff on court is allowed to drink water. But usually the time spent on court is not greater than 45 minutes without break, so even hot temperature is not dangerous (it's often irritating, though).

But I was surprised when I read on www.wimbledon.org: "The usual routine is 2 hours on, 1 hour off. This may be altered in extreme conditions." (ballboys). That's quite long.

Glad he's ok.
