Question for experts

If people withdraw from the main draw are the Frenchmen that were granted wildcards allowed to move in on their rankings... because a lot of them are very close on the next in.

And if they are allowed to do so, can the French then give those wildcards to people like Mahut who are in the qualifying draw?

Benneteau got in directly so his WC went to someone else (Tsonga & Patience got the last two on Monday).

Now that the qualifying draw is out & is underway, anyone else who withdraws from the main draw will be replaced by a lucky loser, not an alternate.

Re: Question for experts

Thanks.

So any idea why Tsonga and Patience got wildcards over Mahut and Mutis who are ranked higher?

Patience I can understand over Mahut, but Tsonga over Mutis? Especially since Mutis made the 4th round last year.
