Re: The best thing about clay season?

I think JC will have a slow start to this clay season since he has been sick but I hope I am wrong. Oh and Dream is wrong about Roger not dominationing the clay season. Hopefully he and JC and Guga still snag some clay titles. Oh but Dream is on with her Americans remark. It's the reason ESPN cancelled the clay masters this year.

Re: The best thing about clay season?

I don't know maybe they do that crap highlight but it makes me sick that ESPN won't carry it since USA sucks on the surface. Tennis has no future with this narrow-minded tv format.

Re: The best thing about clay season?

Well for 1, JC can hopefully regain #2.
2. Roddick sucks so bad on clay, that Roger & JC will get far ahead of him in the ATP rankings (point wise)

[QUOTE=tangerine_dream]1) No Roger Domination

I wouldent count on THAT!!! Roger's record last year at the Clay Masters was 11-2, not bad, eh. He can certainly win big titles on clay, just not quite as dominating as he is on a hardcourt.

Fedex I have great faith in our Roger. I love the clay season because only people I like tend to win the titles.

Same with me. Which is why i try to correct tangerine, Roger has proven he can win big titles on all surfaces, including clay. Something i dont think Andy is capable of yet. I dont think he is ready for RG though. Not yet. But i think a QF or SF result this year would please me. I want to see Roger defend Wimbly, most of all.

And Roddick won two back-to-back clay titles last year, too, so neither one of them is really that bad on clay, but I would still be surprised if Roger "dominated" clay this year, and also if any of the Americans made it past the third round.

So with Ferrero getting much needed rest now, I'm sure he'll come roaring back to reclaim his Roland Garros title this year (althought Coria and Nadal are causing me some concern these days). I just hope Juanqui is rejuvinated now because he didn't seem like he was really ready to play earlier this year.
All right lets get this straight. Roger is not BAD on clay!! Certainly much better than Andy, and if he would stop being a pussy, and playing in those american tournements like Houston with no 'true clay courters' his record would be really bad on clay. May i also remind you that Roger did make QF at RG, something Andy will be lucky to do in his career. Plus 2003 RG was so far back, and BEFORE Rogi's breakout, leading him to win the next 2/3 majors, so his mentality has changed alot since then. He's a totally different player from where he was a year ago.
