Of course there are no good news. Why would there be?

Oh Tommy. I put so much hope in you. I know, I know, it's my fault for getting overexcited.

American Wankfest it is then.

The ATP part of the US Open has now officially died as far as I'm concerned. All I can say is, I hope Lleyton can defend his title, because I can't see Mad Max or Schalken progressing much further (sadly) and the thought of any other player winning this slam is so repulsive it makes my stomach turn. Please don't let it be Andy, please don't let it be Andy!

I'll see the replay of Tommy's match later on. I hope he at least played well.

And if Lindsay can take out Serena, I will be overjoyed. It's a sad, sad day when WTA becomes more important to me than ATP but so it goes.

Leo, thanks for your report, I really enjoyed it. I'm glad you had a wonderful night of tennis. lol @ looking for Bridget.

TH, I hope you enjoyed the smilies. And I didn't think you were dissing my boy. Were you?

And now for something completely different. It's...

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Grr, I know. Tommy did win the tiebreaker, but lost the last set 7-5. At least we can say he put up a fight and didn't go away 2, 2, and 2.

Agassi, Hewitt, Gonzo , YOUNES , Max, Sjeng, Andy and Pete. God what a horrible quarterfinal round. I mean--YOUNES?!?!?!

No, I wasn't dissing your boy, I guess I just read a note of defense in your response about you expecting Sjeng to give Lleyton a hard time at Wimbly. No worries

And it's . . . MONTY PYTHON!! YESS!!!!!!

That's just what I've been thinking all day. But nothing we can do about it.

Go Max and Sjeng, prove my predictions wrong lol.

Nope, no defensiveness at all I was just sharing my thoughts before that match.

I see you know Monty Python. I love them. At one point I was almost obsessed with them. They helped me through a difficult period in my life by making me laugh my ass off every night. That's my kind of humor. I taped the entire Flying Circus series and I still have those tapes, probably the first tapes I ever made. They must be more than 10 years old now.

Oh btw, guess what! The Pretender is coming back! My local TV station finally decided to show the next season after a 3 year break, just when I gave up on the idea of ever seeing those episodes. Jarod and Miss Parker will be back in action on Friday. I'm soooooooo happy.

I guess if I must dwell in tennis inferno, I might as well have a bit of TV heaven as well.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Monty Python is great!! I love that dry Brit wit that you have to watch a few times to get EVERYTHING they are making fun of I don't get a lot of chances to watch it, but I have seen "Holy Grail" (of course), and even viewed it in a class in high school! Crazy stuff. I also recently acquired BBC America, where they rerun Flying Circus sometimes. My favorite sketch is the dead parrot sketch, and I heart the knights who say NI!!

LMAO I'm in a great mood today

Usually when I'm going through rough periods, I am consoled by music, sometimes of my own mixing, sometimes of others' design. I am very endeared to Weezer for just this reason.

Ultra coolness!! The only thing about sharing a TV with a hundred other people . . . you don't get much say in what's being watched. Luckily, hardly anybody is down there during the day, so one of my friends and I go stake it out for tennis watching. We're going to watch both singles finals somewhere Even though I hate the Williams sisters (he loves them) and Hewitt, Agassi, and Sampras, who are likely going to be playing in the final--at least one of them. But sometimes you can't complain!!

Good to hear you're in a great mood.

lmao the dead parrot sketch. I couldn't say what my favorite sketch was off the top of my head but I remember the one where one of the Gumbies wants a brain specialist because his brain hurts. lmao at Cleese as a Gumby/doctor. That vacant look in his eyes just kills me.

Yes, music is always a great source of comfort for me. I love to listen to it late at night on the headphones. There's something eery about it (well depends on the music). Actually, any time will do. I often go on a short bike-trip with a great tape in my walkman. It relaxes me both physically and psychologically.

What do you mean by music of your of mixing? Weezer are great but I don't know them too well. Sadly, I can't afford to buy a lot of cd's. I borrow them from the library though. They have an excellent selection but no Weezer.

I'm sure that will change after tonight's play, but what the hell. Enjoy it while it lasts

Like making a mix tape--or downloading music and burning it on a CD--only I make mix CDs. I like making my own mixes, sometimes just randomly and sometimes for creative purposes. Like the one I'm listening to now I made last year at Valentine's Day. The premise was to tell about the cycle of a relationship, and I think I did quite nicely I've been using it as a soundtrack for the story, or at least some of the songs.

Weezer is great. Their website is http://www.weezer.com, just if you want to take a look around. They also let you download their music, I think. I know they did before they released their last album. The best album, in my opinion, is their first album, Weezer, most commonly called "the Blue Album". It's only about half an hour long, but the songs are perfection. I'm sure you could find songfiles out there on the net somewhere. I'm not very hip with the burning music thing, so I'm not quite sure.

LMAO!! Did you guys see this?

They played on Court 10.

3.Men's Super Senior Doubles
Bob Lutz (USA)
Stan Smith (USA)
def.
Cliff Drysdale (RSA)
Manolo Santana (ESP)
6/4 6/1

I actually thought droll ol' Cliff was from England, I didn't know he was from South Africa. Learn something new everyday.

Nothing interesting in his profile--just thought it'd be good for a laugh!!!!!

"Ferrero's going to be a tough one for anybody. This guy is the real deal already. He's got a chance at going a long, long way. This guy could be the best Spanish player ever; that's saying something." - John McEnroe, June 2000
