Where is everyone? I feel lonely in here.

Vera, thank you for the pic of the kitten. It is sooooo adorable. Unfortunately I didn't see it before I went to sleep. Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all well last night.

Yeah, I liked Addicted to Love. It was a different type of romantic comedy, quite a refreshing view of human obsessions, which are especially strong when it comes to love and relationships.

And speaking of Dying Young (and Campbell Scott), I really loved Singles. It was funny and romantic and it had the greatest music... Cameron Crowe is one of my fave directors. Almost famous doesn't really count as a romantic movie, but it could. It blew me away and made me cry, but then I often cry watching movies. And another one of my faves, although it concerns teenagers not adults, is by the same director. It's called Say Anything and stars John Cusack and Ione Skye. A very warm, funny and touching movie about coming of age.

Another movie I left out was City of Angels. The original German movie called Wings of Desire is hands down my favorite movie of all times. The remake is of course completely different, but it never pretends to reach the heights of the original. It's a movie in its own right. Nicolas Cage is so angelic in that movie and Meg Ryan at her cutest is the perfect reason to become mortal.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Hey, I'm here. Glad you like the kitten. It is really sweet looking, isn't it.

Can I post a JC pic here? Is it against the rule? Just that it's equally sweet

Hi

You just caught me logging off and going to sleep, which will be a much more pleasant experience than yesterday, I'm sure.

I believe the rule states you cannot post a pic here without drooling all over it and that kind of takes care of itself, don't you think? Let me do the drooling bit:

OMG, THIS PIC IS TO DIE FOR! JUANQUI AT HIS MOST ADORABLE!

It's true. I've never seen this pic before, but I love to see him smile. He doesn't do that nearly often enough.

Good night. Thanks for the sweet dreams.

I watched English Patient last night, for the nth times. I love this movie, it makes me sad every time I watched. The love is so intense, I think. And it's such a beautiful movie. The other one I like "The End of an Affair". Okay, another Fiennes movies, can you not love him? But "The End of An Affair" also has a very interesting plot. City of Angel is so sad but so lovely at the same time. I guess I like love story to be more than just plain and simple. Cos love and life is never simple, so my fav are mostly end sadly but then the love described are usually quite intense and eternal.

Though I also like some lighthearted one like: Four Weddings and a Funeral, My best friend's wedding and "The Very thought of you". The latter is called something else in England, starring, well, Joe Fiennes. He is way too adorable.

By the way, is it okay to chat about movie in this thread? Is it the rule that we can talk about anything as long as it's not about tennis and JC? I just want to make sure I'm not violating any rules.

And ya, this JC pic is one of my fav. Cos he looks shy and sweet (though you can't really see his face, but you can feel how sweet he is).

I think he doesn't smile too often because he's too sweet looking when smiling too lethal a smile that is, that doesn't go well with his lethal forehand, and killer backhand.

Exclamation C.Dri & PMac on 'DA BIG DAY'

Cliff: A warm welcome to Tennis Masters Series Canada, men's semifinal day. Today's featured match: Juan Carlos Ferrero vs Alex Corretja.

PMac: That's right, Cliff. Right on schedule, these two have met in one of the most exciting semifinal battles since the '97 final, where great American Chris Woodruff defeated a red-hot Guga Kuerten.

Cliff: Perhaps just as interesting as the on-court story is the off-court story surrounding these two players.

PMac: Indeed. It all started Wednesday, when Ferrero was fined for not speaking to the press about his wife's erratic behavior. Since then, Layla Ferrero (same horrible picture as before) has been seen watching Alex Corretja's matches, and Ferrero has been seen in the company of another young lady himself.

Cliff: Patrick, how do you think the players will react to each other on court, both knowing it's their personal lives, not their tennis, that is grabbing headlines?

PMac: The Spaniards have never really been showy on court, Cliff, and if anything, I think they will be even scappier today, to show everyone their game is more important than their love lives.

Cliff: Speaking of Spaniards, Patrick, Carlos Moya, not surprisingly, is playing in the other semifinal. He's playing against Jarkko Nieminen, the hot young Finn.

PMac: Amazing, isn't it, Cliff? No Americans left in Canada.

Cliff: Do you think Moya can handle the heavy-handed Finnish player?

PMac: Well, Cliff, Nieminen has posted some really good results this year, defeating Roddick, Sampras, and Agassi on hard courts and clay. He picked up another title on clay this year, in Estoril. He's also one of the few players who can translate his game to grass, making the 4th round of Wimbledon this year--that amazing match where he ousted Lleyton Hewitt after 5 previous losses.

Cliff: Moya has never played Nieminen. Do you think he will get a handle on his game early, or will it take him a set?

PMac: If Moya can get an early break, he should win this match comfortably.

Cliff: Ferrero & Corretja have just walked out on court. We'll return after this break.

OMG, what's gonna happen next. I guess we'll have to be patiently wait...

Are you sure you'll free on Tues? Schedule comes out and JC is playing on Tuesday! You think they'll have mercy, showing him on TV, maybe just a shot or 2. I'll be happy just to see his face.

Yes, don't worry about the rules Vera, it was just a joke. You can talk about whatever you want, including tennis and JC.

There's a movie called The Very Thought of You starring Joe Feinnes? I've never heard of it. Is it a new one or quite old?

I loved Four Weddings and a Funeral but to me, the romance between the main characters didn't work, cause imo Hugh Grant and Andie McDowell weren't a great match. I would prefer to see some other actress in that role. I mean I like Andie, but there was just no chemistry between them. Kristin Scott Thomas' character was perfect for him. I also quite liked Notting Hill.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Hi ILR!

I was wondering why you disappeared.

I'm fine. Trying to work, as usual but otherwise I'm excited over the start of the US Open today. 12 hours of tennis on Eurosport every day. I can't wait to hear what my commentators have to say about the odds of certain players.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

It's ok, TH. It's just that I expected loads of people to rush into the forum after the end of the final or something and then hardly anybody was online until it was time for me to go to bed.

Don't worry about the installments. They're supposed to be fun, not an obligation, right? I'm still pretty busy myself what with 12 hours of tennis a day in addition to all the work I need to do.

Talk to you later.
