hey Viola! I have a question for you (and other fans from China also~) Why is ferrero so popular in china? is it because he reached Shanghai finals in 2002? (it'll be awesome if he's the most popular tennis player in china!! ) Any other tennis stars VERY popular in china too?

I think it's because of Juanqui's exotic good looks... a BLOND Spaniard... tall, slim, great tennis, cute and shy... no need to ask!

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

the master cup in shanghai is the very beginning where most new tennis fans know jc (sorry for my poor expression in english, u can understand?). he's absolutely the most popular man player among women fans. unlike most players, he doesn't look too robust, but slim and strong, and it just meets the aesthetics in china.
besides jc, federer, roddic, safin and hewitt are also popular now. most older tennis fans prefer the older "emperors" of course

Ohhh, I totally agree! I actually didn't watch any of the Aussie Open this year (aside from Ferrero/Federer and Clijsters/Henin-Hardenne) because I was overly disgusted with seeing so much of Roddick!

ROGER FEDERER.

thanks flora for your compliment.

and as for me, i've never seen or heard an american commentator, thus don't know if they're as biased. commentators should be really neutral, and should not take things too personal. sports is not a total issue of patriotism, but pure sports!

Hello everyone! I'm from Hong Kong.
I've been a JC's fan since Master's Cup'01. He's really a great player. Best of luck to him.
